The Politics of Oscar … What a Shock, Hollywood LEFT Bashes GOP Wisconsin Gov. Walker
Breaking news from last nights Oscars … they are Leftist, union supporting, Republican bashers.
As reported at ABC’s The Note, during last nights Academy Awards, cinematography winner Wally Pfister went out of his way during his acceptance speech of thanking his union crew on “Inception.” But that’s not where it ended, he went into even greater Leftist politics backstage, off screen where he bashed Wisconsin Go. Scott Walker …
Backstage he went further, expressing shock at Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker’s budget proposal, which would limit union’s collective bargaining powers. Opponents of the plan have been protesting at the state capitol for 21 days.
“I think that what is going on in Wisconsin is kind of madness right now,” Pfister says. “I have been a union member for 30 years and what the union has given to me is security for my family. They have given me health care in a country that doesn’t provide health care and I think unions are a very important part of the middle class in America all we are trying to do is get a decent wage and have medical care.”
Just curious Hollywood, how do all those non-Union folks ever get by?
Oh the amazement and irony of it all of the union label. As stated at Big Hollywood, isn’t it rather comical that there is “nothing like an Academy Award winner who can afford to send his three children to whatever school he wants coming to the aide of the unions that have destroyed the public schools”.
Another shock, Hollywood types dropping the F-bomb and its just laughed off.

I also agree with Big Hollywood; it is an obvious fact that during each of his 30 years as a union member, he has always had the kind of income and benefits to afford their “selected” schools.
These enlightened Hollywood elites don’t know the difference between a private and public union.
2,
That’s an interesting opinion. I wonder if the unscrupulous corporate elites have the same understanding?
Who gives a damn about what the Hollywood elitess think. They are over paid and underworked AH’s.
It is difficult to put any credence into the statements
coming from members of an industry primarily dedicated
to fakery. The actors, liars-for-a-living, are paid to impersonate
others and create what was, isn’t, and might or might not be
in the future. To make a buck they will say, do, or feign
anything that is called for in the script. Those who decide
the scripts decide the zeitgeist of the Hollywood Community.
Cross ‘em and greet the pink slip.
This is incredible; how dare these “actors” speak out this way at their annual award show.
We should band together and demand they not be allowed to speak their minds this freely, as if they have a right to do so.
Unions absolutely ‘give’ great stuff to their members.
The only problem with that is the Unions must take
that money from someone else. Since the average
wages and benefits demanded by Public Sector Union
folks is approximately double the wages and benefits
of the Private Sector people from whom they are taken,
something is unreasonable.
Agree with #2.
It’s an awards show why bring politics into it?
Yep Steve…free thinking when it comes to only low life liberals like you…but where were you when the MSM was basically trying to rip apart people who attended the tea party rallies, etc as racist, bigots, etc…but they were just speaking their free mind…
oh wait…weren’t you on here last week spewing liberal BS that the Wisconsin thing was only a “local” issue and a not a national one? Hmmmm…
Flip flopper!
Could you imagine the MSM uproar if someone say like Jon Voight won an award and spoke out against unions and how they are killing the states?
Just imagine the raking over the coals by the MSM if the tide is turned.
Those liberals who use their 2 minute acceptance speech on BS of which they are not part of everyone else’s reality.
10,
Obviously I wasn’t reading this list, because I have no clue about “ripping apart people”. All I recall was the MSM fawning over gatherings of 150-200 people, as if that meant anything.
As far as mentioning “local”, unless you can pinpoint where I said it and what the topic was, I don’t have the time, energy, or inclination to decipher your vague reference, just so I can debunk it anyways. Consider yourself lucky.
11,
To be honest, it’s unclear to me what I might say to right-winger Jon Voight, if there was a similar circumstance regarding his acceptance speech.
BTW, time you paid attention to some actual reality, and the facts here. The story above clearly says “during his acceptance speech of thanking his union crew“. Saying “union crew” doesn’t take 2 minutes, as you claim. Loser.
