An Open Letter to Parents from Michelle Obama Following the Tragedy in Tucson Targeting Tolerance

First Lady exploits Tucson tragedy to target McDonald’s Happy Meals, tolerance.

First lady Michelle Obama took the opportunity to send an open letter to parents in the aftermath of the Tucson, AZ shooting “targeting” how we deal with one another and tolerance. Huh? Let us rephrase that, Michelle Obama exploits the Arizona massacre. As stated by the Gateway Pundit, Jared Loughner, a deranged mental case, who was booted out of his college for his bizarre behavior, goes on a shooting spree in an attempt to assassinate US Rep. Gabby Giffords (AZ-D) after years of fixating on her a Michelle Obama want to teach children about tolerance? Didn’t her own husband, President Barack Obama, state at the Tucson Memorial/Pep Rally that the shootings had nothing to do with the political discourse in the country? Yes, he did.

In the days and weeks ahead, as we struggle with these issues ourselves, many of us will find that our children are struggling with them as well.  The questions my daughters have asked are the same ones that many of your children will have – and they don’t lend themselves to easy answers.  But they will provide an opportunity for us as parents to teach some valuable lessons – about the character of our country, about the values we hold dear, and about finding hope at a time when it seems far away.

We can teach our children that here in America, we embrace each other, and support each other, in times of crisis.  And we can help them do that in their own small way – whether it’s by sending a letter, or saying a prayer, or just keeping the victims and their families in their thoughts.

We can teach them the value of tolerance – the practice of assuming the best, rather than the worst, about those around us.  We can teach them to give others the benefit of the doubt, particularly those with whom they disagree.

What on earth does what happened in Tucson, AZ have to do with tolerance? Maybe you would like to tell children that there are some mentally disturbed people in this country and there is sometimes no explanation why they do, what they do. That some people need to be committed for their bizarre behavior is all others around them feel threatened. Gee, why didn’t the first lady also take the opportunity to tell children to stop going to McDonald’s and getting Happy Meals while she was at it?

   Obamas speech the other night was inspiring. The loudness of the event wasn’t his fault. However, both of the Obamas just don’t know when to keep their mouths shut. If Rahm Emmanuel said that “no crisis should go to waste” then the Obama’s mantra should be “let’s take a bad situation and make it even worse.”

   I was harassed for one year by a young liberal who is such a racist and a criminal with a wrap sheet a mile long. They vandalized my home both him and his girlfriend. I had to deal with daily profanity and he would block me from trying to leave my home. I called the Sheriff’s Department almost on a daily basis and they would tell me there was nothing they could do. I eventually went to court to try to get a restraining order and I was denied because no violence had been committed. Even though this guy was stalking me, harassing me and my daughter I become very fearful and today I still got no help from the police. It is a disgrace that they side with the criminal and not the victim. When a incident like this happened in Tucson the media makes a big thing out of it and people say …WHY did it happen. I suppose only if me or my daughter got hurt this guy would have gone to jail. So Mitchelle Obama your letter does not help at all.

   Jared Loughner had mental issues. Republicans and Democratics consider his actions despicable.

   However … The gunman who shot and killed 12 and injured 31 in his rampage at Fort Hood had an Islamic agenda. Remember the alleged words of Major Nidal Malik Hasan following the rampage “ALLAH IS GREAT”.

   Maybe the focus of concern should be directed at the Islamic agenda … an agenda that is preached ongoing from the pulpit of every mosque throughout the world. Death to America! America, the Great Satan!

   Political correctness will be the downfall of the democracies of the free world. Islam is winning without a challenge.

   Tolerance? Obama implies that those who oppose in a democratic society are THE ENEMIES.
