13 year old Hailey Darlene Dunn, a student and cheerleader at Colorado City Middle School in Colorado City, Texas, has been missing since December 27, 2010. According to reports, Hailey Darlene Dunn was supposed to visit a friend’s house; however, never made it. According to KTXS News, the friend that Hailey was supposed to spend the night, she had not made any plans for Hailey to spend the night and was unaware she was coming over.
Texas police are investigating several tips in the case of a 13-year-old girl who was reported missing after she failed to return from a friend’s home.
Hailey Darlene Dunn, a student and cheerleader at Colorado City Middle School in Colorado City, Texas, was last seen on Dec. 27, according to authorities.
The girl was thought to be spending the night at a nearby friend’s home, but was reported missing the next day by her mother, Billie Dunn, when she did not return home.
Police say they tried to issue an Amber Alert but were unable to do so because there is “not enough information” on Hailey’s disappearance.
Hailey Darlene Dunn’s mother’s boyfriend, Shawn Adkins, was the last person to see Hailey Darlene Dunn before she went missing on December 27. Police have also verified that Adkins has been given a polygraph test.
Officials confirmed Wednesday that Shawn Adkins, the boyfriend of Hailey’s mother, has been administered a polygraph test. He was reportedly the last person who saw Hailey before she disappeared on Dec. 27.
Officials also confirmed that Hailey’s home was searched Wednesday for any clues that may have been missed earlier.
The search was conducted by the Texas Rangers, who looked through the home then spent 10 minutes in an outdoor storage shed.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on the girl’s disappearance to contact the Colorado City Police Department at 325-728-5294.

Actually, I read this morning on a tx site the BF has refused 3 polys. He did sign the paperwork but walked out of the building and family hasn’t seen him.
Not good. Similar to Kyron Horman’s step-monster who also walked out on at least one.
Why oh why are women so desperate for a bed partner? Makes no sense to me. Pitiful state of the world today.

The boyfriend of Hailey Dunn’s mother has refused to take polygraph tests pertaining to the disappearance of the missing 13 year old and hasn’t been seen since Wednesday morning, according to members of the Dunn family.
Hailey’s older brother, David Dunn, told KTAB’s Priscilla Luong that Shawn Adkins had refused to take two polygraph tests Wednesday. According to a report from the CBS affiliate in Midland, Adkins signed the paperwork to take a third but then refused to take it and left the building.
Law enforcement is yet to confirm or deny these developments being reported by family members.
Thursday morning, David Dunn told KTAB News his mother was sleeping inside the family’s home after spending the evening at the law enforcement center.
On Wednesday, Texas Rangers searched the home occupied by Billie Dunn, Adkins, Hailey, and Hailey’s brother.
According to Billie Dunn, Adkins spoke to Hailey at 3 p.m. on December 27. Hailey said she was headed to her dad’s house, located just across a field, then to a friend’s house to spend the night. She never showed up at either location.
Bloodhounds tracked Hailey’s trail Tuesday to a motel located near her home.
According to the Colorado City Record, crews went out on horseback and foot Wednesday searched wooded areas out the outskirts of Colorado City.
The Colorado City Police Department tried to issue an Amber Alert three times, but with no evidence of an abduction, Hailey’s case failed to meet the criteria, according to Pete Kampfer, City Manager of Colorado City
“Of course as soon as we get that evidence, and get closer to that, on issuance of an Amber Alert, we’re going to be right on top of it,” Kampfer said, speaking on behalf of the CCPD.
The reward has grown to $25,000 for tips that lead law enforcement to Hailey Dunn.
The boy friend has something to hide for sure.
Yes Lynn, and sadly I have serious doubts that this young child is alive. We had that local girl go missing with mom’s 32 yr old BF that was found in California, but they BOTH disappeared. Not so in this case. So sad. Another desparate woman who allows a preditor into her life…and her young daughter’s.
I watched Nancy Grace on tv an all they mainly talked about was the poly text. If the neibors seen her on a cell phone around lunch time. Have they tracked her cell phone or if she left it at home. Have they went through her contacts an seen who the last person she talked to was? I have children an they wouldn’t leave the house with out there phone.
If the Texas Rangers are on the case, they probably have checked the cell phone.
I hope that the boy friend of the mother is being tracked by LE and they know exactly where he is.

Dear Tx…yes, they apparently met on the internet 2 yrs ago and a few months ago “new loverboy” moved in. Just like Brittany Smith’s mom.
I do not understand WHY the mother did not call her daughters friends house or her ex husbands house to find out were her daughter was that night. Any parent in their right mind would have called to check and see were their child is at.
I have a 14 yr old and she only stays the night w friend if I first talk to the parent and then I DRIVE her the 2-3 blocks to the house. She never walks alone anywhere!!!! The mom was too distracted with her own self and boyfriend to take care of her daughter! it’s possible the girl met a guy online like her dear mother did and agreed to meet at the hotel.
I watch Nancy Grace too. I can’t seem to follow all the stories so many!! But this one hit home, because i have a 14 year old daughter. I know when they turn 13 they want hang around boys more and on internet and phone. I am a single mother and I have a boyfriend. I paid money to check him out. But still I will not let him live with us because of this situation. She is not allowed on the internet its not a punishment we just don’t go there. I check her phone all the time. She understands why and that is the only way to keep the phone. she’s only allowed to go to one friends house to spend the night. I take her or her friends mom comes over and gets her. I do not let her hang out side in the neighborhood for any reason. She watches Nancy Grace with me. She wanted to go this weekend to search for Hailey. I had to work. I am not trying to say I’m a perfect Mom but now days when you have a daughter you have to be very protective of them in this world. I read on another site that moms boyfriend is missing now?
OMG — isn’t it so obvious this boyfriend has an attraction to YOUNG girls? I mean even Hailey’s own mother looks under 20 years old and seems so innocent.
This is such a sad story so many man missing info. I applaude Billie Dunn for talking out but please feel in blanks. If you out purchasing drugs admit it the more info they have the better off they are. Also I know you are trying ti being a honest as possible but some story lines are missing i encourage you to tell the cops everything. my one concern is that last night on Nancy Grace yo mention ex husband was going to do his own search at a sighting why didnt you call and report it dont leave it up to him. i pray ans hope that this child is still alive and after putting what i can together just my thoughts. Could she be somewhere traded for drugs? Sorry but its better than the alternative. god Bless we are praying for safe return and for the placement to be done if she does.
