21 Year Old Jared T. Egnew & 1 Year Old Daughter Madison Egnew Missing Since 6/25/10 While camping in Washington (UPDATE: Found Safe)

A father and daughter are missing and have disappeared while camping  near the Lyre River Campground, west of Port Angeles, WA. 21 year old Jared T. Egnew and his 1 year 10 month old daughter Madison Egnew have been missing since Friday, June 25, 2010 when they disappeared while camping.  On Saturday morning at 10 a.m. searchers found Jared Agnew’s blue 1999 Ford Taurus that the father and daughter had driven away in abandoned and stuck along a logging road about five to 10 miles away from the campground. No one was in the vehicle.

Jared T. Egnew, 21, and his daughter, Madison Egnew, age 1 year and 10 months, were reported missing about mid-day on Friday after they failed to return from a drive near the Lyre River Campground, west of Port Angeles.

“When we find the car abandoned like that, we become worried,” Jefferson County Undersheriff Ron Peregrin told the Peninsula Daily News. “Now they’re exposed to the elements, and that’s what really kicked our search into a higher gear.”

He said a Coast Guard helicopter has joined the search for the missing pair.

According to reports there is no evidence that the mother and father had been fighting prior to the disappearance. Jared Egnew took the baby for a drive to tryi and clam her down. The father, Jared Egnew, and the baby never returned.

“It did not appear that there was any kind of dispute. He just took off with the baby because the baby was fussing he was going to take her for a drive to calm her down. And he never came home,” Peregrin told the Peninsula Daily News.

Clallam County sheriff’s officials said Jared Egnew left the campground at about 11 a.m. Friday to go for a drive with Madison. The little girl had been fussy, and Egnew left thinking that a drive would calm her down. McComb remained behind at the campground.

Description of Jared and Madison Egnew:

• Jared Egnew is described as white
• 6 feet tall
• weighing 244 pounds
• dark brown shaved or buzz cut hair and a goatee
•  wearing an AC/DC gray long-sleeve shirt and blue jeans
• He reportedly has glaucoma and is ADHD and wears contacts.

Madison Egnew:

• 33 inches tall
• 26 pounds
• dirty blond shoulder-length hair frequently worn in a ponytail
• green or hazel eyes
• pierced ears with colored stone stud earrings
• wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, brown boots, and red socks.

If anyone has seen or hears of Egnew and Madison, or the car, they are asked to call 9-1-1.

UPDATE I: Dad and Daughter Found Safe!

31 year old Jared Aegnew and his 22 month daughter Madison have been found safe and sound in the woods on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula.
