Daily Commentary – Friday, February 5th, 2010 – Michael Jackson Doctor Conrad Murray Gives Himself Up
- It’s a good thing, but let’s not let the buzz around Michael Jackson’s the doctor Conrad Murray surrender drown out other important cases. Sadly a myopic media will focus all their attention on one case while many others are still out there.

Talk about justice taking along time. New laws are needed to prevent Propofol abuse. This Doctor did not have to give MJ what he wanted.
Agree # 1. Even though MJ’s actions & behaviors over the years were definelty eccentric—when he was here…how many times was his talent taken for granted. The tribute to him during Grammy’s 2-D “EARTH SONG”….really fantastic.
No need for any Hollywood Doctor or group of Dr’s to keep enabling it’s Stars to kill themselves. Even though Jackson was stubborn and insisted on Murray giving him the Propofol—it was Murray’s own greed in the end that did him in. Jackson esentially lured him to come work for him personally during his last “This Is It” Tour-with an outrageous salary…what person would refuse that?? The Doctor went around bragging to people that he was now set for life. Funny-even a Nurse affiliated with another treating Physician had the ability to speak up, say No and warn other of his over-medication and abuse of this drug–but clearly Murray did not have the professional integrity to warn his most famous & exclusive patient that he was clearly taking his own life in his hands if he continued the treatment. You don’t mess with a person’s vitality and life like that by administering a powerful anesthiatic drug unless you are, in fact, an Anesthiologist in an Operating Room. Murray’s license should be suspended at a minimum. It was not pre-mediated- but definetly Manslaughter. The Doctor panics and calls Jackson’s 14/15 year old Son that day when he didn’t wake up? Pathetic–the emotional trauma he put those children as witnesses through that fateful day was unexcusable.
Some doctors forget that oath they took when they became doctors. I don’t care how much money someone is paying you, you do not over medicate. You are the doctor and should know what is harmful and should refuse to administer a powerful drug such as the Propofol. This drug was not being used for it’s intended purpose. I agree that this doctor should be stripped of his license and should indeed serve jail time. The life of Michael Jackson was in this man’s hands. He failed MJ and now a life is lost because of his carelessness.
