There is a controversy at the Super Bowl and it has nothing to do with any of the players from the Indianapolis Colts or New Orleans Saints.
All eyes and Gator Nation will be tuned in on Tim Tebow’s decision to star in a Super Bowl ad slated to air on CBS on Feb. 7 that will focus on “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life.” CBS’s decision to go with the commercial has sparked controversy from Women’s groups that are pro-abortion to stop the ad. The Women’s Media Center and over 30 other liberal and women’s advocacy groups sent a letter to CBS, “… we urge you to immediately cancel this ad and refuse any other advertisement promoting Focus on the Family’s agenda.”
The ad spot was purchased by Focus on the Family, a conservative Christian organization that places emphasis on marriage and parenthood.
The Associated Press reported this week that the ad’s theme will be “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life,” with Pam Tebow sharing the story of her difficult 1987 pregnancy — instead of getting an abortion she decided to give birth to Tebow, the now-famous quarterback who went on to become a Heisman Trophy winner, leading the Gators to two BCS wins.

Tim Tebow was born on August 14, 1987 in the Philippines to Bob and Pam Tebow, who were serving as Christian missionaries at the time. While pregnant Pam suffered a life-threatening infection with a pathogenic amoeba. Because of the drugs used to rouse her from a coma and to treat her dysentery, the fetus experienced a severe placental abruption. Doctors expected a stillbirth and recommended an abortion to protect her life. Pam carried Timothy to term, and both survived- via Wikipedia.

The ad is about Tebow’s mother making a CHOICE, isn’t that what the pro-choice crowd wants? A woman made a choice, but not the one pro-choice wants women to know about.

I wish I would have heard more messages like that before I made the worst decision of my life 20 years ago. Many ladies feel that way, I know them!

#5, I cannot imagine any rational person being “pro-abortion”. I am pro-freedom, generally speeking that includes one’s own say so of their own body. Also, some have different belief structures than more right winged conservatives…we might believe the soul takes up residency upon birth.
Our family, a large extended one and clan like lived on one 55 arce truck/nursery farm. Also we did share cropping, syrup making etc. The real dirt poor people. Yet, surprize, we had a medical doctor for a family friend. He was a kind person and treated us like 100% people.
Abortion was illegal at that time. This doctor did countless abortions. Compassionatley trying to save the lives of young women from death by coat hanger, a hot tool, poisonous laxitives, suicide, or late night barber shop parlor’s. This doctor, doing something I could never do, sure enough could explain the compassion involved; explain bazzar circumstances…some reasons fade with changing social acceptance, all deadly real to the unfortunate. And no one can know the value of all reasons in anothers head.
The doctor supposedly did these abortions free of charge, not that that makes the practice glamorous.
There are serious abuses of abortion. Where the majority are protected with freedom, not nearly everywhere agreed, but everytime somewhere — will be the “abuse”. Religion and finger pointing/life and freedom taking, has far more blame in history than rights of choices for all.
This commercial is just saying “what if”, do with it what you will. If it saves someone from greif later in life it is worth that much. Nobody is damning anybody for abortion, go take a leak for 30 seconds and don’t watch it.
What have we become when the first response to an accidental pregnancy is kill it instead of using proper birth control beforehand WTF?

Rather ironic that the PRO-CHOICE crowd is AGAINST the choice of LIFE rather than DEATH.
Tells us a lot about what their agenda is really all about and its pro-abortion, not pro-choice.

One sides interest in labeling or rights restriction, does not make the same better for the other side.
The earlier battle, seems to me, is the defeat of liberals. Fractioning out again at this time, will split what we have found in common.
I think “pro-abotion” an accusation, “pro-choice” an attempt at understanding. Any Freedom, never once without cost.
Chosing LIFE is fine, I applaud that and respect that. I get that. What I posted was that I don’t believe Superbowl Halftime is the right place or time to air the Ad.
Regardless of what country- here or anywhere around the World- I do not believe any Governmental body has the legal right to tell a Man or Woman what to do with their own body. Period.
There is no right or wrong answer here- this is only my viewpoint. I support life. And I also support a Woman’s choice. I do not support late-term pregnancies and each circumstance is different so please do not preach to me. I have a right to my opinions and I am not necessarily “Pro-Abortion”. A Zygote is a Zygote- I do not think aborting a fetus with a heartbeat is justifiable either but I also stand by what I said above. As a woman, it’s MY BODY, MY CHOICE and no one else’s business except the Biological Father also responsible for the pregnancy. He has a right to some input also. Still not his body though.

#19- You have a valid point but also I never said or inferred that I would find an ad like this “offensive”. It’s not.
Simply said Superbowl halftime wasn’t the time or place for it, IMO but maybe I am wrong. Airing Tebow’s Ad would however provoke many Women like myself to keep questioning this perplexing issue, which believe me- I do.
As a female I have never been in the difficult position of having to even make this choice, and I’m thankful for that. Deep down inside I believe that if I ever were- I would most likely chose life.
Sen.-elect Brown says he supports abortion rights
WASHINGTON — Republican Sen.-elect Scott Brown of Massachusetts says he opposes federal funding for abortions, but thinks women should have the right to choose whether to have one.
Brown tells ABC’s “This Week” that he disagrees with his party’s position that the Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion should be overturned.
Brown says the abortion question is one that’s best handled by a woman, her family and her doctor. He also says more effort needs to go into reducing the number of abortions in the U.S.
Brown has said the GOP shouldn’t take his vote for granted on every issue. He says he’s FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE but more MODERATE on social issues.
Brown recently won the Senate seat long held by liberal Democrat Edward M. Kennedy, who died last summer.

Brown talks about lessing the amount of abortions, yet he is pro-choice. Kinda hard to do when the pro-abortion crowd do not want any info out there for people to see like the Tim Tebow commercial.
Tim’s mom made a choice … too bad its not the one that the Pro-Choice agenda folks are pushing. That is why they are so upset.
