Rev. Pat Robertson on Cause of Haitian Earth Quake …Ancient Haitians made “Deal with the Devil”
Oh dear Lord … He said WHAT!!!
Reverend Pat Robertson once again put his foot in his mouth and stated that the cause of the tragic and catastrophic 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Haiti yesterday was the cause of many years ago the Haitian people making a deal with the devil to rid them self of French rule.
This is a lesson for all of the golden rule os speech … when you don’t have anything good to say, sometimes it’s best to say nothing at all … GOOD GRIEF!
With all the devastation, destruction and death in Haiti, do we really need this nonsense regarding deals with the devil?
The Rev. Pat Robertson is offering his own absurd explanation for why a quake hit Haiti: Many years ago, the island’s people “swore a pact to the devil.”
“Something happened a long time ago in Haiti, and people might not want to talk about it,” the controversial televangelist said during an interview Wednesday on the Christian Broadcasting Network.
“They were under the heel of the French…and they got together and swore a pact to the devil. They said, ‘We will serve you if you’ll get us free from the French.’”
Pat, with all due respect … some times there comes a time with such great human tragedy and suffering that one just shuts the hell up, offers their prayers and their help in what ever manner they can. Not this ridiculous dribble. I think I am going to have to second Jammie Wearing Fool’s hope that Robertson get some psych care.
Allah Pundit points out some of the other foolish and inappropriate comments that Pat Robertson has made over the years.

That ain’t God’s work, Pat. Hate to break it to ya.
God has better aim.
He would have targeted Aruba!
The world would never miss a net loss of 500,000
illiterate rapists.
Not even one bottled water would be sent.
classy answer Carpe
Good answer Carpe. Robertson is in the “GOD Business” and sometimes these people say things that any thinking person cannot accept.
I will take exception to your number of people in Aruba and the rapists we know about were not illiterate. They were members of the government and their families. They are highly involved in human trafficing and other things such as drugs.
Anyone who travels to the ABC islands are putting themselves in a dangerous place.
That really was not appropriate on Rev. Pat’s part. The last thing those poor souls need to hear is that they are being punished by God for something that happened years ago. That is ludicrous.
Yes, God is in control of everything but that does not mean that these people are being punished. We don’t know God’s plan. Everything happens for a reason.
I think sometimes these Evangelists should remain quiet.
Joran is borderline illiterate TG.
Wasn’t he in 12th grade for like 4 years?
He looked like Jethro Bodine in a classroom of midgets.
The earthquake was a horrific natural disaster … nothing more … nothing less. The hand of God did not play a role.
However … I am a firm believer in actions and consequences.
Could it be that in the past the people of Haiti listened to those who were deceptive in regard to CHANGE … listened to those who had no concern regarding their well-being … listened to those whose mission was to dictate … when French rule was rejected.
Think about it. When the massive slum dwellings are considered … did the CHANGE ultimately better the everyday lives of the people of Haiti?
Think about the aftermath of this catastrophic event. The CHANGE failed miserably in a response to assist the people of Haiti.
Could it be the people of Haiti would have been better off if the CHANGE had not happened.
Carpe … I agree. Logic dictates.

There really isn’t a lot of difference between the things that Pat Robertson said about Haiti and the things that get posted on a daily basis on this forum about Aruba.
There is a word for the act of presupposing God’s will. That word is “heresy.” It applies to Pat Robertson and, evidently, also applies to Carpe.
Regarding the terrible tragedy in Haiti, it might be helpful to read the Bible Books of Job and Jonah to gain some understanding of how God feels about the current disaster. You might be surprised!
