11 year old Samantha Broadhead and her 15 year old boy friend Jack Ault have been arrested in Clear water, FL for plotting to kill the girl’s mother by setting her bedroom on fire while the woman slept. The teens now face attempted murder charges. The 11 year old Samantha Broadhead is presently being evaluated in a psych ward after the attempted murder oh her mother over retaliation of a previous argument.
Clearwater Police Department detectives say the young couple poured gasoline on Nancy Broadhead’s bedroom floor and bed, and then set the room aflame. Police say the pair escaped in the mother’s 2007 Ford Focus.
It was unclear if either suspect had an attorney. There was no answer at a listing for an Ault in Clearwater.
The girl’s mother was awakened by a smoke alarm and managed to escape. Authorities say Nancy Broadhead, 47, sustained serious burns and smoke inhalation. Her injuries were not considered life threatening.
Samantha Broadhead later returned to the scene and agreed to go to police headquarters for questioning. Jack Ault was located at a friend’s house and taken into custody.
Police spokeswoman Elizabeth Watts said a motive was “probably just typical teenage angst.”
Teenage angst?!? Are you kidding!!! Since when is teenage angst pouring gasoline in you parents room and trying to murder them by burning them alive? Ault was taken to the Pinellas County Juvenile Assessment Center and Samantha was placed under the Baker Act for psychiatric assessment.

Yes, typical teen angst… (sarcasm)
An 11 year old allowed to date a 15 year old.
The mother arrested multiple times.
DCF investigated and did nothing.
The 11 year old decides she wants a cigarette.
The mother winds up with 2 gallons of regular unleaded in her bed, and her fuzzy slippers on
fire.
Unfortunately, this has become TYPICAL.
I guess the mother was HOT !!!
This has to be a broken family. Where is the father and why in the world would a functional mother allow an 11 year old to have a 15 year old boy friend?
If I found a 15 year old boy nosing around one of my 11 year old girls, there would have been a real confrontation with the boy.
Charge the boy with attempted murder and kidnapping and put this piece of crap in prison for about 50 years.
Remove the girl from the care of her mother, put her in a home where there is a real mother and father.
I would be willing to bet that this is in a community where drugs are found in almost every house.
There is nothing typical about trying to murder your mom.
This is what our society is coming to? Out of control teenagers and deadbeat parents.
What a shame.

Seems Jack has been causing trouble for years – his very first arrest, for battery, was at the ripe old age of 8. He was arrested a total of five times JUST THIS YEAR, the charges ranging from domestic battery to probation violations to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Nancy has been arrested several times and convicted of child neglect, DUI, indecent exposure, and resisting an officer. In 2005, she faced charges of child abuse and battery, but the charges were dropped.
police have been called to the home at least 7 times in the past year on domestic disturbance complaints.

I was with this so call Mom for 2 years and had a son with her . All I can say is ( My God ) . She is a every day drunk and drug abuser . I took my child away from her and ran . I personally know that she has abused this 11 year old child .The State has taken this little girl time and time again . I can’t beleive that Florida would have allowed this child to live or be around the mother. Both of sons were taking away from her by the state . This little girl did not have a dad to fight for her .

SM: This is your unsubstantiated opinion … even if all were true which we have no reason to believe it is or not … that hardly gives the right for someone to murder her by burning her alive.
SM . Here’s a few facts for you . Nancy Broadhead has been investigated by the HRS for over twenty years . She also has a DUI in the 1980′s . She lost her now 24 year old son 1989 . Lost her 17 year old son in 1996 .Why you ask…?? Driving with these children in her car drunk . Hrs can confirm these facts , Madd caught her in the act. No one derserves to be set on fire . But this 11 year on child has been tourchered by her loving mom . Anything I have stated is of public record .It will all come out in the wash . Just thought I’d let you know .
