Once again welcome to “Obama in Wonderland,” where everything is upside down. Only in “Obama in Wonderland” is the system considered working like clockwork when a terrorist is able to get a bomb on bard a plane, attempt to explode it but fail to only because of a faulty detonator. The spin out of this administration is frightening and dangerous.
This morning on ABC’s “This Week” with Jake Tapper, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano actually said that “everything went according to clockwork” in how passengers, crew, air industry, state and local enforcement and the government reacted to the attempted terror bombing of Flight 253.
I guess we all would hate to see if the system actually failed according to Obama minions.
“Once the incident occurred, every thing worked.”
Um, the fact of the matter is that only a failed detonator was the difference between allowing passenger Jasper Schuringa to subdue terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab on Northwest Airlines 253 or the senseless killing of passengers aboard the airplane.
Her exact comment was “… once this incident occurred, every thing went according to clockwork.” Are you insane Ms Napolitano? We are not interested that “once the incident occurred that everything went according to clockwork”, we are interested as to why BEFORE THE INCIDENT OCCURRED, why everything did not go according to clockwork!!! We could care less as to how officials reacted after the fact. Who in their right mind thinks the system worked? As stated at The Corner, “I would wager that not one percent of Americans think the system is “working” when terrorists successfully get bombs onto planes (and succeed in activating them).”
What the public is concerned about is how the incident occurred, not what the Obama administration did after it happened! How did this terrorist get explosives on the plane?
Try as you might, you can’t sweep this one under the carpet and blame it on George W. Bush.

Oh but wait, we have a near terrorist bombing aboard a plane bound for Detroit, MI and our concerned commander and chief is golfing. Could you just imagine what the MSM would be saying if it were GWB on the lynx.

We second and third the motion of Flopping Aces and Johah Goldberg at NRO. How inept could this administration really be? How could this be the message that they put forth to the American people that the system worked, when it obviously failed. Once again Obama has picked yet another winner to surround him self with.
For some one who is such a great communicator and provided such great speeches during the campaign, the message from Obama and this White House has been an unmitigated disaster since he took office. It is like the Gang that Could not Shoot Straight.

The LEFT railed on GWB for supposedly being warned of 9/11. Bush knew and did nothing. That was the cry from the LEFT. So what about Obama? Alhaji Umaru Mutallab, the father of Flight 253 Plane terrorist Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab had warned the United States U.S. authorities to his son’s “extreme religious views” months ago. Is this not a warning?
Remember when the left was up in arms about how President Bush was supposedly “warned” about 9/11?
It’s always struck me as silly — and more than a little unfair — to expect any administration to be “warned” about a potential attack if it’s just part of a list of thousands of potential problems.
That being said, given the 9/11 experience, wouldn’t it be reasonable to expect that, if a man’s own father warned the US about him and his intentions, that the potential troublemaker would at least make it onto a “no fly” list?

SM…your comment made me remember an interview I saw with Bush #1 after Clinton was elected. At the time, the President was taking heat over something (not related to a sex scandal :>) and the reporter was asking Bush’s opinoin. His response was something like, “Since I’m no longer President, I’m just glad this time it cannot be my fault.”
With Obama as Pres., I feel as if I don’t have a president over my country. Scary to see Pelosi, Reid, and such on the news as they rarely speak anything remotely close to my views and/or beliefs as an American…not to mention my private views of what God is and expects of us.

How is this Bush’s fault?He has not even been in office for a year.Obama is clearly responsible, as he should be responsible for anything that goes wrong while he is in office.He should have been responsible for the airport security at the 2 foreign airports the whacko went through.It is obvious Obama does not know the real threat of terrorism.

What you all don’t understand is what the Homeland Security’s plan was for

And as Napolitano tells us, it all worked just like clockwork.And of course “we” will all have learned from this. There will be no more bathroom breaks on aircraft and along with no pillows or blankets, and taking off you shoes at airports, you will need to roll up your pant legs.
