I was only 2 years old at the time but it was still a great day
If anyone believes Apollo put a man on the moon, then I got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you. Bart Sibrel has proven that the moon landings were a HOAX. Check out the proof here:

Does any one remember the russian moon vehicle that was controlled remotely by video ??? I think it’s name was Lunokhod ??? There may of been two trips with remote vehicles by the russians.
Not sure if your serious Bob but just in case the LRO orbiter recently snapped these images of 5 of the landing sites with the decent stages of the LRM’s still there

Twas a great day in American history, indeed!!
The United States set out to, not only be the first to put a man on the moon, but to bankrupt Russia in the process aka “space race”, and we succeeded in both accounts
My dad worked at NASA when Von Braun was the director at Marshall Space Flight Center in the Avionics Directorate back in the “hey day” of the space race. He would roll over in his grave if he knew I felt NASA has long outlived it’s existence
Susan your Dad was a hero and I bet he was truly a great person !!! I work with some retired NASA Engineers for a small areo space company based out of Mojave Ca and we have so much fun designing propulsion systems and some times blowing them up !!! So much knowledge going to waste !!!
Thanks, buster
I was not around when Apollo 11 landed. We should be on Mars by now.
