Barack Obama better get used to the boos when it comes to nationalized healthcare. A healthcare system run by the government that would make the HMO’s of the early 90’s look like patient/physician friendly entities. Can you imagine a political bureaucrat coming between you and a healthcare decision? The government is going to lecture us on wasteful spending? That’s laughable.
Barack Obama isn’t used to hearing boos.
For all the young president’s popularity, the response he got Monday from doctors at an American Medical Association meeting was a sign his road is only going to get rockier as he tries to sell his plan to overhaul the nation’s health care system.
The boos erupted when Obama told the doctors in Chicago he wouldn’t try to help them win their top legislative priority—limits on jury damages in medical malpractice cases.

And indeed there’s good reason to boo. Let’s just talk about the parts of the health care plan that O’s released so far (and believe me, they are purposely being deceitful – here’s what good ole Charlie Rangel said about being truthful
). But I digress: The CBO revealed that while O’s plan would insure 39 million of the currently uninsured (remember Rasmussen says 22% of those uninsured are illegals) – it will leave 36 million uninsured and remove 23 million of those currently insured on to the uninsured roll!
That’s right. We will take working Paul and make him pay for illegal Jose and non-working Peter to be insured while removing working Paul from his current health care insurance program! What a deal!
oh and the magic above will only cost you the taxpayers a mere $1 trillion (Obama’s estimate so you can at least double that and cut the health care you expect in half).

I would like to make an honest comparison between the US and Dutch system, am curious how much it costs us as consumers.

Here illegals are not insured, its not possible. They wont turn you down at the hospitals (I hope that is the case in the States too)

See, wouldn’t you want to limit the amount of money that can be awarded in a law suit so you can keep malpractce insurance costs down and therefore keep healthcare costs down? Does that make sense to anybody?
They where booing him because his plan is not to help the system but to drain the money from it. The same as the rest of his plan for America. Rob from the productive to give to the lazy.
They are also making it easier to sue corporations, that is why he needs a latino woman with her richness in experience in the sway of the law.

Oh no!!! I hope the government doesn’t keep the doctors and pharmasutical companies from making millions while hard working families struggle to pay their medical bills. That would be SO UNFAIR! So what if the elderly have to make a choice between buying food for the month and expensive prescriptions. They can eat their meds and drink lots of water. That should keep them alive long enough for some profit to be made and then the next old man can hunt for change in his couch to find enough money to pay for HIS prescriptions. I think the doctors and drug companies should be rich beyond their wildest dreams while the rest of us do without. That’s my hope anyway. Oh I so hope Obama fails so the republicans can continue to rape this country. I especially like being F***ED without being kissed!
Dolf: My husband and I pay about $450 every 3 months for supplementary insurance to cover what the Government reneged on and we go without dental insurance. You see my husband served his country for 26 years with the promise that he and his family would receive free medical and dental care (as a “benefit”) for life. But President Clinton decided to nix all that after my husband have finished his service to his country.
And yes, the New O plan will provide “free” medical care to all illegals who currently are 22% of the uninsured. In return for covering 39 million people currently uninsured, O will take away the insurance of 23 million who ARE currently insured (bet da_wench is pleased about that). You see some people only care about what happens to them; they want “free” health care because they think things in life should be free.
They don’t care that by getting what they want that others will get less health care or no health care. They don’t care that those working are providing all these “benefits” for those who are too lazy to work. It’s a gimme mine nation.
Pharmaceutical companies (that da_wench likes to rail on) have to charge so much for medications because those paying for medications are paying for those getting free and subsidized medications.
When the Govt steps in and says a pharmaceutical company can only charge medicare $25 for a $50 drug, all the rest of the insured and uninsured get to pay $70 for their drugs to make up for the freebies to the government.
In addition the number of lawsuits (some much deserved, many not) that are cooked up to go after what people perceive as the “rich” drug companies. Apparently juries don’t realize that it’s not the drug company paying the awards, but the future consumers purchasing the drugs.
People hail the law suits against school boards, cities, police, etc. not realizing again who is the ultimate payer of these claims – US Taxpayers.
I suppose the beginning should start with firing any and every government official found to be involved in what ultimately ends up being an award by a jury to citizens.
Congress likes to blast the big bonuses paid to bank and insurance officials, but have you seen Congress taking a pay cut because they failed to 1)curb the financial disaster – Remember, there’s a bank over cite community that was out to lunch when all this happened.
2) curb spending and therefore have run up giant deficits
3) stop incredible fraud amongst themselves such as Murtha, Dodd, William Jefferson, and the list goes on and on.

Instead some bureaucrat is going to decide who lives or dies and that especially affects the elderly. It’s called RATIONING and it happens in EVERY socialially run health care system…PERIOD. There is a reason Canadiens come to America in droves for procedures their government will NOT pay for.

CASE IN POINT, NOT SO GREAT BRITAIN.
Here is case to consider…in the town near where I live, there are a big number of illegals. The hospital and doctors overrun with babies being born and no insurance. So, all the OB docs left the area. Now everyone illegal or not must come to another town to have their baby delivered. Everyone is punished, the docs weren’t making money, and every person with insurance must make the trip to another town to have a baby as well.

SM: Sorry Dolf, I have been a consultant in the healthcare field for years. Any inefficiencies and problems with the US healthcare system will never be fixed by the govt. They will be made worse.
Medicare & Medicaid fraud is through the roof.
The US already had a taste of what managed care looked like in the early 90′s when HMO’s came on the seen and dictated care. I cannot even imagine the govt doing the same.
Look to the VA’s as to what the future on govt care looks like. You all do realize that Medicare does not cover many commonly covered procedures, right?
Folks, look at your auto insurance and compare … oil changes are not covered are they.
We are supposed to trust the govt for our health care when it took them 5 days to get water to the Super Dome during Hurricane Katrina. I would not trust any political party with healthcare.
