Recently in an interview with Greta Van Susteren, Joran Van der Sloot stated that he 
confided in a teacher at his school at what he did with Natalee Holloway and her disappearance. Joran Van der Sloot; however, did not provide a name. However, in making reference to a teacher at his school who he was close to, Joran did implicate another individual in obstruction and the cover up of a crime.
Many times when a sociopath tells a story there are bits and pieces of the truth mixed up with the multitude of lies. Was the part that Joran confided in a teacher at his school the truth?
VAN DER SLOOT: No, the first person I told was a teacher of mine, and then the lawyer.
VAN SUSTEREN: The teacher is?
VAN DER SLOOT: The teacher — it was a teacher from school.
VAN SUSTEREN: What’s his name?
VAN DER SLOOT: Yes. It was a teacher from school, that I had as a teacher.
VAN SUSTEREN: What did he tell you to do?
VAN DER SLOOT: To tell the truth.
VAN SUSTEREN: And what was his name?
VAN DER SLOOT: I can’t think of it right now.
VAN SUSTEREN: You know what, you do know it.
VAN DER SLOOT: I can’t think of it right now.
VAN SUSTEREN: Is it the teacher who was there when you and I did the interview back in March of `06?
VAN DER SLOOT: Yes.
VAN SUSTEREN: When did you tell him in relation to Natalee’s disappearance?
VAN DER SLOOT: I told him a couple of days after, at school, I think.
VAN SUSTEREN: Did you have a special relationship with this teacher?
VAN DER SLOOT: I had a very good relationship with him, yes.
Flash forward to December 1, 2008 to a Greta Van Susteren interview with Holloway family friends who investigate Van der Sloot’s Headmaster. Could the headmaster be the teacher that Joran was referring to in the interview?
VAN SUSTEREN: What did he tell you, Charlie?
DEBARDELEBEN: He told us some quite interesting facts, as a matter of fact, that Paulus and Joran had been there a day or two before, that Paulus was trying to explain with his son what had happened, and that he was trying to explain that his son had taken Natalee out to the light house, that she wanted to see sharks, that at some point she had fallen.
And he was just volunteering information, but also saying what a good boy Joran was and how the father was about to be a judge, and he was a very upstanding citizen of Aruba. And it was really apparent to us that he was doing the best he could to cover for him.
VAN SUSTEREN: Mitch, what was your impression of the headmaster. Did you get the sense that he was straight talking, or were you suspicious of him?
ENNIS: I was very suspicious because the first thing he said was she may have drowned, and the way these currents are they would carry her out to sea and we would never find the body.
He mentioned that the night she went missing, probably they could not tell that she came back to the hotel because the cameras were not working. How would he know these things unless he was coached into it?
And I was suspicious of what he had to say, because from day one this thing appeared to be a cover up. The police, it seems their main objective was to protect Joran, and the heck with finding Natalee.
VAN SUSTEREN: Why do you say that, Mitch?
ENNIS: Van der Straaten told us, he said “I don’t think I could arrest my best friend’s son. I am his godfather, and I honestly don’t think that he’s guilty. He is a witness.”
And I said this is strange. That is the last person who saw her. And he said, “We are working on another angle on that.” And that angle was the two black men that were security guards, they were going to try to blame it on them.
I felt like from day one we could tell that they did not want us there. They were very uncomfortable with us being around them because they were trying to cover it up.

I’m 49, and I remember my second grade school teacher. Her name was Miss Croken. My little hoodlum friends used to say:

Exactly Buster. I can remember every teacher I ever had too and I’m 45 years old.
They are never going to give Natalee and or her family justice. They are never going to bring down Joran, the Kalpoe brother or Pervert Paulus and his buddies. I mean, it has been more than three years of Joran running his mouth making Aruba look like a hell hole for tourtists and three years of his father and friends protecting him making it okay to run his mouth again or rape and murder another innocent girl. Aruba evidently has something to hide or they would have taken those lying, raping murdering psychos off the street by now. It is apparent to me that they do not care what happens to the island of Aruba so long as their dirty secrets are never disclosed.
IF this is true, it seems the teacher could be arrested. He is NOT a in a position where he has client obligation not to talk, or special religious orders. Can’t he be brought in for questioning? In the real world, I think he could but in the “lawless world of Aruba”, probably not.
What’s sick is there are many people who want Joran dead. They are complicit in the murder and cover up.
It would be bad for justice if he were to die as he is protecting alot of guilty people.
Why do you think he has money to travel the world? His shakedown of his father and the police no doubt warranted another wire transfer.
One day I hope the almost framed security guards want to renegotiate their hush money.

IF they wanted ro press charges, there was plenty of time to do so before. Nothing that Greta is going to ” uncover ” or discern is going to make a difference at this late date.
But, she has tapes where he says the names of who was paid or who is LE was bribed. Most of us who were here from the beginning knew exactly how this was going to be played out when we read who the father was, what his occupation was and Paulus’s connections within the cabinet and the judiciary. Besides Joran, these people know and they aren’t going to serve themselves up for justice.

no other network or news agency has continued to chip away at this case except for De Vries. most of them have taken the attitude that it’s old news and that no one is interested in it anymore. There are many of us who do not post anymore but are still here and are still supporting Natalee’s plight. I have been following this case since day one and have a daughter the same age as Natalee who was on a beach week for her senior year of graduation the week after Natalee. I’ve been here ever since and hope for justice.
Something else I don’t understand … we were told, I think it was in August last year (please check the dates, and correct me if you can), that Aruba had handed over Natalee’s case to Holland, lock, stock and barrel.
Aruba was no longer involved. Period.
So we were told.
But NOW, Hans Mos, of Aruba, is saying that he wants to shut down the case ….
If Aruba is no longer involved, how can he do it?
Or aren’t the lines of authority clear? Or are Aruba and the Netherlands still squabbling?
Or was it just another of the lies that we have seen over the last three and a half years from Aruba, the Netherlands, and everyone else involved in this case of a missing American girl?
Neither Aruba or Holland are going to lift a finger to bring Joran and Paulus to justice. You could show them a video tape of them committing the crimes against Natalee and they’d have a reason why it wasn’t enough. Get over expecting it.
Do expect Aruba to apply to Paulson for a bailout. One Crappy Little Island is taking a nose dive into the drink.
Do NOT wish Joran harm. He is his own worst enemy and needs to suffer daily for who he is and what he’s done.

I agree with Waterboy’s comments, and Katablog’s statements made in post #22.
Like so many other Monkeys, I too have been following this case since the day Natalee disappeared. It’s hard to explain beyond the obvious of course(because an innocent American Teenager was murdered & raped in Aruba) why this painful case has struck a chord in so many of us.
We hold on with baited breath, unfortunately—each time some progress has been made—we are all let down since justice and any charges or imprisonment for the truly guilty perpetrators of this crime seems highly unlikely.
So, Katablog is correct. We should never expect the Island of Aruba to do one damned thing legally. They have been in it too deep since the begginning, and so many in power on the Island are indeed corrupt (some proven to be pedophiles in high positions as well)—so this goes much deeper and the “house of cards” will fall at a great cost if Paulus VDS is ever convicted…he will cry like a little baby and tell all.
Lastly,- Joran IS his own worst enemy. He cannot and will not keep his evil, lying mouth shut. He purposely attempts to manipulate the media with more of his fabricated stories and lies to divert from the facts. Of this we know—Natalee Ann Holloway is no longer with us. (IMO, the stories of her being sold into the sex slave trade are bogus). We know for a fact- that Paul VDS was involved up to his neck after his Son raped Natalee—and it is possible- since she was drugged—that she was unconscious when Joran decided to dump her body at Sea. She may indeed have been at the infamous “lighthouse” and met her demise there. Either way- I know- as Beth Holloway did that day she couldn’t look out to the beautiful blue Sea when she arrived in Aruba—that Natalee….she was out there somewhere.

It is not correct that Aruba “handed over” the Natalee case to the Netherlands.
Aruba, as a souvereign country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands, has its own justice department which handeled and still handels the case. Formally it isn’t even possible to hand the case over. However, Aruba did invite Dutch investigators to help with the case. Please note that the Dutch could only get involved if invited.

Of course, van der Straaten knew that Natalee was dead and had seen the evidence … I always thought it a bit funny that he never produced any ‘evidence,’ to my knowledge.
What his statement DID do is divert attention from any other scenario. One wonders why ….

on Joran being paid to do an interview “where he confesses to have sold Natalee”…regardless of whether it is true or not… they probably look at it as being another “chance” another “opportunity” to try to put Joran behind bars where he belongs.

In newsshow ‘Hart van Nederland’:
‘Police helped father of Joran.’
Justice now demands a thorough investigation.
PvdS were given ALL results from the investigation, including FBI results.
PeterRdV: It’s clear now that not only the house searches of the VdSloots were obstructed but the investigation itself was also from the start! Such a conduct never could have happened in the NL’s.
Pressure now is increasing on PvdS.
In TVShow ‘De Wereld Draait Door’.
Parliamentarian Hero Brinkman of the political party PVV: “I was tipped already that this obstruction of the investigation had happened.
We send millions and millions of euro’s to the antilles but still it is a bananarepublic.
The islands in the near future must be totally independent of the NL’s.”
Interviewer: “Sell them?” (This Hero Brinkman in the beginning of this year publicly said something like: Let’s put all these islands on Marktplaats.nl [the dutch Amazon.com or something])

We have been talking about this conflict of interest for 3 years…including.. Paulus working with all these people for years he said and knew them well.. AND reports of Dompig and the Kalpoes are related… Boeti the witness a cousin of Dompig’s… Michael Dompig, friend of the Sloots and Kalpoes..Also Dave mentions in his book that Beth was told by attorney Helen Lejeuz, that Van Der Straten was involved in a cover up before on the island.. Why else would you the judge change a search warrant on the property to just Joran’s room and not the entire property? Why else would the cops and Beth go watch the Holiday Inn tape, within 48 hours, where Natalee did NOT return to the Holiday Inn , and yet the cops still go out and arrest 2 black men, with no evidence, for kidnapping and murder, other than the word of these 3 and they had already been caught in lies? Why would the cops allow Paulus to lead everyone on a wild goose chase away from the house that night for over an hour? Why was Deepak’s car at the police station the next morning when Beth and Jug went to talk to Jacobs? Deepak said he went home after meeting with Paulus and Joran in Joran’s room and they sat on the floor.. Funny Deepak could never remember what Paulus told them. Why on the same day, did Jacobs tell Beth and Jug to take a seat while he shaved, ate, and had his coffee for hours and hours and then come out and say we won’t be needing your statement today.. Why was Straten still going in Jacob’s or Dommpig’s office when he wasn’t suppose to be near this case? Why did Obuder say this wasn’t the type of case for Straten to be on? Reports that Paulus gave his son a phone in jail.. He wouldn’t allow Dave in to talk to Joran, but shook his hand and wouldn’t let go saying he would do anything to protect his son. Why would they wait 10 days for property searches, body searches, car searches, no taping or following them, and yet raid 2 black security guards home with no evidence they even knew Natalee.. ?
Remember Steve Cohen saying he expected them to be charged with rape and murder? What was the evidence of this..including the prosecutors concerning Paulus, Joran and the Kalpoes.. Straten saying on June 5th, he thought Natalee was dead he seen the evidence..
VAN SUSTEREN: Has the prosecutor ever said to you, Beth, I’m convinced he’s guilty of committing a crime against your daughter?

Aruban Authorities Confirm Murder Suspicions
Aruban authorities for the first time provided details concerning the allegations against five men being detained in connection with the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, suggesting that they believe the Alabama teen was murdered.
A prosecution spokesperson told reporters Friday that Joran Van Der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe, and Satist Kalpoe are being held under suspicion of murder and kidnapping and being an accessory to murder. Steve Croes, a local party boat DJ arrested last week, is also being held on those same charges.
Paulus Van Der Sloot, the father of Joran who was detained yesterday in the case, is being held under suspicion of complicity to pre-meditated murder, complicity to kidnapping and murder and kidnapping.

Recently the Dutch and Aruban press have turned very critical of the Aruban police investigation into the disappearance of Holloway, the first public signal that corruption might be the major obstacle to solving the case. Several Dutch criminal law experts have gone on the record calling the investigation methods “strange and unprofessional” and the investigation itself “total madness.”
At the center of controversy is Gerald Dompig, Aruba’s Chief of Police. According to reports, an anonynous man in tears called Dompig with information about where the body of Holloway was buried. A month passed before authorities began the search, yet ealier Dompig spoke openly with the press about new clues. “This is very strange,” said legal psychologist Peter van Koppen. “Normally the area is closed off immediately, to dig and search for clues, but not in Aruba.”

the boy that was held captive was taken to court today.. the court house is acrosss the street from my apartment.. I have an eye view of the court house and noticed all kinds of camera and news trucks blocking the main entrances and all the parking lots!!! I guess its making headline news today… I looked out my window and noticed all the commotion and it was jam packed with news trucks .. congesting courthouse and down town traffic….

Unless/until Amy Bradley and/or Natalee Holloway are found, if this is what happened, how many people on such islands would believe that such a thing was happening where they lived?

Minister Rudy Croes van Justitie spreekt ‘openhartig’ over de begintijd van het Natalee Holloway onderzoek.
ORANJESTAD — Jan van der Straten heeft in de eerste tien dagen nadat bekend werd dat de Amerikaanse tiener Natalee Holloway was verdwenen, het onderzoek verknoeid. Hij hielp zijn ‘vriend’ Paul van der Sloot om zijn verdachte zoon Joran te beschermen.
Dat heeft de minister van Justitie Rudy Croes gezegd, nu hij zich aangevallen voelt door de oud-politiecommissaris en eerste onderzoeksleider van de zaak. Van der Straten leverde eerder deze week kritiek op bepaalde aspecten van het Korps Politie Aruba (KPA). “Ook heeft hij onze Guarda Nos Costa vergeleken met een politiek gedirigeerde groep à la Chávez (Venezolaanse president)”, zegt Croes “Hij is activist van oppositiepartij AVP, vandaar, maar hij vergeet dat juist de Natalee Holloway-zaak werd geregeerd door vriendjespolitiek.”
Wachten tot pensioen
“Eigenlijk wilde ik tot mijn pensioen volgend jaar wachten om dit naar buiten te brengen”, vertelt de minister verder. “Maar het is tijd om de waarheid te vertellen. Toen de zaak aan het licht kwam hoorde ik Van der Straten letterlijk zeggen: ‘Dit kan ik mijn vriend Paul niet aandoen’. Vervolgens was er in de eerste tien dagen telefoonverkeer tussen hem en Paul van der Sloot.”
Van der Straten zou volgens Croes na de verdwijning van Natalee ook misschien wel bewust het zogeheten flexiteam hebben ingezet. “Hij zei toen in mei 2005: ‘Dit kan ik eventjes met mijn flexiteam oplossen’. Zoals iedereen weet, was het flexiteam een team dat werd ingezet als het gewone politieteam overbezet was. Bijvoorbeeld tijdens carnaval.
Er kon een rechercheur bijzitten, maar het was geen politieteam dat in staat was een onderzoek te doen. Waarom werd niet het taya-team (agenten met veel expertise en ervaring – red.) ingeschakeld?”
Er ging nog meer mis, kaart Croes aan. “Waarom werd er toen een beachbum beschuldigd die voorheen een choller was geweest. Hij zou het gedaan hebben, terwijl men intern wist dat hij het niet had gedaan. Ook apart is het feit dat Joran in het Nederlands werd ondervraagd, terwijl hij goed Papiaments spreekt. Net als onze recherche. Onze mensen hadden hun werk veel beter kunnen doen als de gesprekken in de eigen taal waren gevoerd. Waarom dit privilege? Gewoon omdat het ‘Nederlander-vrienden’ waren. Alledrie: Joran, Paul en Jan. Vergeet ook niet dat een Nederlandse minister me in die tijd vroeg om ‘alstublieft’ niet te noemen dat Joran een Nederlander is. Ik zeg niet wie het was, maar mocht het op een bepaald moment nodig zijn om hem te noemen, doe ik dat zeker. We voelden ons in de steek gelaten door Nederland toen Aruba verwoestend werd getroffen door de zaak. Dat heb ik de Nederlandse premier Balkenende en staatssecretaris Bijleveld (Koninkrijkszaken) en minister Hirsch-Ballin (Justitie) verteld. Maar iedereen is tot nu toe stil gebleven en laat Aruba’s naam besmeuren door de wereld. Ze lieten en laten ons vallen en lijden.”
De oplossing van de zaak ligt bij de drie Nederlanders Van der Straten en Paul en Joran van der Sloot, meent Croes. Hij vindt dat er een nieuw onderzoeksteam moet komen van Arubanen, Antillianen, Nederlanders én Amerikanen. “Waarom was er nooit een voorstel gekomen om Jan van der Straten van zijn positie te halen na die tien onbeschaafde dagen? In Bonaire zijn laatst agenten van de zaak-Marlies van der Kouwe afgehaald omdat ze faalden. Ik daag ook Van der Straten en Paul van der Sloot uit om opheldering te geven, zodat Aruba’s naam gezuiverd wordt van deze vuiligheid (porkeria).”

I am inclined to believe Joran’s original confession to the guy who taped him while driving around together.
Basically, Joran overdosed Natalee with GHB and no doubt got a buddy to dump her @ sea. I firmly believe that to be the case. His buddies did help get him home, and his father. His father was #1 in helping his evil spawn with an alibi and to cover up with his ARuban cronies.
This 2nd “confession” was nothing more than a back-peddling from the more accurate description he gave unwittingly in the car back when.
Too bad Joran…we know all we need to about you. YOU are RESPONSIBLE for her death and disappearance. End of story.

How many flaws and mistake do these police forces going to make? Look at it now..we’re almost 3 years later and another innocent girl killed in Peru. He’s finally in prison but was it neccesary? Couldn’t he be detained right away that brat. Incompetent facilities letting him go and enjoy his life…what about the families of those victims. I hope they can finally find their rest.
This guy is just another mental case that should be locked up forever. A pathological liar and now all of a sudden he admit killing Miss Stephany Flores to get more soft sentence. I really hope he gets what he deserves. They owe this to the loved ones of the family members he killed.
