Susan Atkins DENIED!!!

Now maybe in her final days Manson cult follower Susan Atkins (aka Sadie Atkins_susan_MansonMae Glutz) will come to realize the pain and torment that she caused Sharon Tate and the five others killed in 1969. She had no mercy with Sharon Tate and her unborn child, why should she be given any today?

“She asked me to let her baby live,” Atkins said. “… I told her I didn’t have any mercy on her.”

Susan Atkins, a terminally ill former Charles Manson follower convicted in the murder of actress Sharon Tate, on Tuesday was denied a compassionate release from prison.

Atkins, 60, has been diagnosed with brain cancer and has had a leg amputated, her attorney said. In June, she requested the release, available to terminally ill inmates with less than six months to live.

I am glad to hear that the parole board is standing by their decision to allow her to be paroled. the crime she commited was so gruesome and brutal.. I just hope she has made peace with her maker…
      sad if she didnt!!

    2. MissKatie on July 16th, 2008 9:47 am

      COORECTION

TO NOT ALLOW HER TO BE PAROLED

    3. Mike on July 16th, 2008 11:40 am

I also agree with the parole board especially after reading about the Manson gang on crimelibrary….their were beyond ruthless.

One thing I can never understand is why anyone would even associate with these kind of animals let alone marry one.

She recieved her big break when her sentence was commuted to life.

    4. Bobbi on July 16th, 2008 11:50 am

No compassion given……No compassion received. End of story

    5. david r on July 16th, 2008 12:37 pm

I don’t understand these people who think that certain circumstances (broken home, dad who used to beat them, etc.) somehow excuse criminal conduct. So she has cancer and is dying in jail. Is this a tragedy ? Perhaps, but the tragedy occurred in 1969 when she killed Sharon Tate and her baby. This is just the consequences. What happens to the criminal is tragic, but it all flows from their original deed.

    6. LilPuma on July 16th, 2008 2:15 pm

I agree with the decision of the parole board. She does not deserve to see the outside of the prison in her lifetime. After that, we must leave it to God. He will judge.

    7. LilPuma on July 16th, 2008 2:17 pm

Mike, if you want to read the long version, get a copy of Helter Skelter by Vincent Bugliosi. It’s a chilling tale, a worthwhile read.

    8. bob on July 16th, 2008 4:14 pm

Helter Skelter is the PC version of the crime. The killings were satanic and mirrored the movie “Rosemary’s Baby.” The movie was directed by Polanski. This is why Sharon’s baby was sacrificed and why the next day Rosemary Labianca was killed. It was a satanic intrigue. S. Atkins was under the influence of A Lavey, founder of church of Satan, before meeting Charlie.

    9. Susy Q on July 16th, 2008 5:38 pm

I’m old enough to remember the terror people felt when this horrible crime took place….we had friends living in Santa Monica at the time and they were terrified….especially after the LaBiancas were killed. Susan Atkins is a monster….wonder if she worries about what is waiting for her in hell. No she should not be released !!!!!!!!!!

    10. tuyvnsurvivor on July 16th, 2008 5:38 pm

There is a new brain cancer treatment in trials, comes from a tiny company NW Bio. I think the trail is surely filled, but she could appeal for compassionate use through her doctor, becoming something of an extention of the trial. That way she could live a few more years to be miserable in prison. Too bad the treatment is non-toxic.

    11. Susy Q on July 16th, 2008 5:43 pm

Oh yes, Helter Skelter is a great book if you are at all interested in this case. Very well written and hard to put down when you start reading it….

    12. Susy Q on July 16th, 2008 5:45 pm

      Good one #10 LOL !!!!!!!

    13. bleachedblack on July 16th, 2008 6:10 pm

According to the article, Atkins is in a hospital near the prison. My guess is that she is allowed to see family in her dying hours and feel their love and support. This is a luxury not afforded the vitims she has admitted to killing.

Maybe it was tasting the victim’s blood.Maybe it was using it to write the word “pig” on the front door.

Maybe it was knowing that Atkins and accomplices
told Sharon Tate there would be no mercy for her nor for her unborn child. Authorities counted in total, 102 knife thrusts in the victims.

Sorry, I have no empathy for the dying Susan Atkins.

    14. May on July 16th, 2008 10:00 pm

Glad to hear there is still some justice in the world!!!!

    15. bob on July 17th, 2008 1:16 am

      Suzy Q,

S Atkins, it is reported, has been a born-again Christian since the 1970′s. If true, then she will soon be in Heaven.

    16. Brenda on July 17th, 2008 6:46 am

Good post David R…I do find it beyond belief she would use the term compassion in anything she is wanting related to herself.

Actually, she is getting WAY more compassion than she gave any of her victims. Justice for a change. Good!

    17. Brenda on July 17th, 2008 6:56 am

      Bob,

If she were really “born again” she would not be trying to get released and realize she deserves to be where she is.

Remember Jesus..you know, the Guy Christianity is based on? When he was being crucified one thief to the left mocked him while the one on the right exclaimed they were getting what they deserved. Jesus then told the man to his right “today you will be with me in paradise”. Not because of what the thief said, but because in his heart he was repentive and saw he was where he was totally on his own. He did not ask to be taken down or shown mercy.

Where is Ms. Adkins public apology to the Tate family? Was there ever one? Did she ever proclaim her guilt? did she ever denounce Charles Manson? All I hear is she wants out.

    18. Susy Q on July 17th, 2008 10:58 am

      well said, Brenda, well said….

    19. bob on July 17th, 2008 1:14 pm

      Brenda,

All Christians know they deserve to go to Hell. S Atkins has the right under our laws to go to a parole hearing every few years and to seek release now that she’s terminally ill. This has no reflection on her faith in Christ.

S Atkins is simply asking for release based on the law. It has nothing to do with her faith. She is well aware she’s a sinner.

You don’t know much about S Atkins. She has apologized many times during her parole hearings. She denounced Charlie decades ago. She wrote a book “Child of Satan–Child of God” that made millions and she hasn’t received one dime. Her profits were to go to a Christian ministry.

S Atkins never actually killed anyone. She held down Sharon as Tex stabbed her. If not for the case’s notoriety, she would have been out 30 years ago. She was also under strong mind control during the crimes.

I’m sure she realizes that she could have been put to death for her crimes.

    20. MissKatie on July 17th, 2008 5:04 pm

      lilpuma

I agree they shouldnt be given special treatment just because they are dying… they made sharon tate and her baby suffer…. why why would they deserve preferential treatment… she will face judgement… once she dies.. god forgives but he also expects to face you.. for your crimes..

    21. Mike on July 17th, 2008 6:54 pm

      Bob,

      From Crime Library:

“Sharon was the last to die,” Susan said with a laugh as she described how Sharon was begging her, ” Please don’t kill me. Please don’t kill me. I don’t want to die. I want to live. I want to have my baby. I want to have my baby.”

Susan said she just looked at Sharon straight in the eye and said, “Look, bitch, I don’t care about you. I don’t care if you’re going to have a baby. You had better be ready. You’re going to die and I don’t feel anything about it…In a few minutes I killed her.”

Please don’t defend the animal now.

Also it took her years to state she had any type of remorse….of course she didn’t do this until she was before the parole board trying to gain her freedom…why so long?

She deserves absolutely no compassion or mercy.

    22. Juan on July 17th, 2008 10:21 pm

      #15 I couldn’t have said it better.

    23. bob on July 18th, 2008 12:46 am

      Mike,

I’m aware that S Atkins initially lied to the grand jury by telling them she killed Sharon. She has since stated that was a lie she told while still under Charlie’s influence. Tex has said in his book that Susan never stabbed Sharon.

I’m not defending her. I’m just saying that if she’s a true Christian, then God has had mercy on her and has forgiven her sins through her faith in Jesus.

You say “she deserves no mercy.” If God thought like you, then we’d all be damned to Hell.

Let me tell you a real unpopular truth: it’s most likely that Sharon is now in Hell and her killer, Tex, is going to Heaven.
      ______________
SM: That is up for God to decide … not you or I. Simply saying you are a Christian does not make you one. There is a little more to it than that.
      R

    24. Mike on July 18th, 2008 6:12 am

“Let me tell you a real unpopular truth: it’s most likely that Sharon is now in Hell and her killer, Tex, is going to Heaven.”

Man thats just plain warped. So now you belittle the victim and raise her killers above her….where do you live fantasyland?

And as Red states God controls who gets into heaven and I doubt if these animals are even allow in line.

You also state “You say “she deserves no mercy.” If God thought like you, then we’d all be damned to Hell”.

I don’t know about you but I haven’t stabbed to death anyone. You can’t compare sins like those to the ones everyone else may have done. For some reason some folks believe that if you say your born again all is ok and its that simple.

Also if I’m not mistaken you say she gave profits from a book to a Christian ministry….would this be the same one she and her husband started?
She didn’t get a dime because its illegal to profit from your crimes.

Even if she didn’t do the stabbing…which I doubt..she is still as guilty as the person who did.

You seem to hold great value for the words of killers. The ones that murder innocents and laugh in open court about their crimes.

Remember the old saying there are no atheisist in death row…funny how they say they come to religion after committing horrible crimes.

    25. Mike on July 18th, 2008 6:16 am

      Bob,

Does that mean her unborn baby who died with her is also comdemned to hell?

    26. brenda on July 18th, 2008 9:05 am

Sadly, claiming to be a Christian is only that. I prefer to look at a person’s “fruit” as it doesn’t fall far from the tree. Since you are into quoting scripture Bob, doesn’t the Bible also state “judge not least ye be judged”? An awful thing you said about Sharon who was a victim.

Also, holding someone down for another to stab is called accessory to capital murder. Good luck convincing any moral-minded person that doesn’t constitute murder. She was WILLING and HAPPY to see this lady die. The Bible also says if you’ve commit a crime in your heart (mind), it is no different and you’ve commit that crime in God’s eyes (paraphrased).

Things are just as they should be with this lady criminal in her prison cell. If you want to sympathize with her, have at it.

    27. Mary UK on July 18th, 2008 1:36 pm

I was delighted with the decision from the parole board, the fact that she “apologized” i find deeply insulting, as a relative of a murder victim reading that makes me feel like throwing up. MAY SHE ROT IN HELL

    28. bob on July 18th, 2008 2:34 pm

S Atkins is rightly convicted of murder. I don’t know if she’s a true Christian. Only God knows the heart. Everyone has sinned and all sins are mortal. Many in jail do believe in Christ because they have been convicted of their sins. S Atkins wrote her book long before her current marriage.

Here’s an unpopular truth: There is no evidence that S Tate was a Christian, and if she wasn’t, then she’s in Hell. If Tex is a true Christian, then he’ll go to Heaven. Read the Bible and understand the gospel. God made the rules.

    29. bob on July 18th, 2008 2:48 pm

“Does that mean her unborn baby who died with her is also comdemned to hell?” Good question. It depends if God has chosen the baby. Read Romans 9.

    30. Mike on July 18th, 2008 3:15 pm

Maybe they say their Christians because the have burnt all their other bridges…with society and such.

Maybe she figures what do I have to lose now…I’m here and I’ll always going to be here…Maybe I can say I’m born again and I get an automatic ticket in….to hell with the Soon to be mother and baby I butchered.

It’s almost as if your saying that since the did something horrible, they have a better shot at getting into heaven.

By your own words you have no idea what kind of person Shron Tate was but you say she is probably going to hell. We know exactly what kind of person Susan Atkins was and is and she goes to heaven….that doesn’t sound right to me.

I still have a hard time believing that God would take killers over victims and babies.

You might want to feel for the victims and their families more then their killers.

    31. bob on July 18th, 2008 9:23 pm

      Mike,

Nobody can fool God. Because Susan and Tex did something horrible, they are more aware that they are sinners and they are more apt to repent and seek forgiveness. ALL PEOPLE go to Hell who don’t believe in Jesus Christ and that includes S Tate. And the reason is because all have sinned against God. That is the biblical truth.

Why would a killer go to Heaven, but a victim and baby may go to Hell? Because the killer has repented and believed in Jesus Christ. The victim never believed in Christ.

I know alot about S Tate and I know she wasn’t a Christian.

    32. Mike on July 18th, 2008 10:24 pm

Maybe she was Catholic….maybe she believe in Christ in a way that you do not.

And you only have their statements they have repented…and if they had I believe that some sins cannot be forgiven….including killing 81/2 month pregnant women and thier unborn childs.

Why can’t they beleve in Christ in their ways and you in yours?

I believe they will stand in judgement one day and unlike you I don’t think they’ll pass the test.

You can’t kill 8 people and get a free pass to heaven.

    33. A New Girl on July 19th, 2008 7:57 am

Evil is evil! Don’t care if she is dying with cancer, don’t care if she claims to be a born-again Christian…she deserves no mercy for her crimes….no compassion at all.

As many posters above are stating, it is God in the end who decides her fate when she dies. Perhaps she can find some sympathy with the devil when she arrives for her final journey.

    34. richard on July 19th, 2008 7:57 am

It’s interesting that this crime dates back to the days when society was still capable of being shocked and dismayed by such things. Today they probably would be celebrated by rock groups and Hollywood movie contracts.

Does anyone else remember the British case of Ian Brady and Myra Hindley, the child killers? This was back in (I believe) Scotland of the 1960s. There, too, at the time of the crimes, society was capable of being shocked; people in Scotland, when Brady and Hindley were arrested, chased them down the street, screaming outrage. So I’ve read.

It seems likely that Myra Hindley did fall under the psychological domination of Ian Brady, according to many sources. Left on her own, she probably would have been a normal girl. Instead, she partnered with Brady in kidnapping, assaulting, and murdering several children.

A British friend has told me that under today’s sentencing guidelines, Myra Hindley would never have been kept in prison for life.

What am I getting at? Simply that the Manson murders (actually, we should remember, Manson wasn’t in the Sharon Tate house) ushered in a new era. I agree that Susan Atkins should die in prison … my point is, simply, that it’s interesting that the Manson murders still have a particular kind of darkness about them.

In THOSE days, serial murder was not commonplace.
Then again, in THOSE days kids bringing guns to school was something beyond belief … and now?
We read about it and say, “Well, it happened again.”

    35. Mary, UK on July 19th, 2008 11:08 am

As i remember it, Myra Hindley and Ian Brady were scentenced to Life in prison just months after the Death penalty was abolished, at the time of scentencing of these two MONSTERS, LIFE was presumed to mean LIFE, and wrightly so, in my opinion. As i have mentioned before a family member of mine was brutally murdered,(think Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman) the perpetrator in our case was let out of prison for a previous violent crime because the procurator fiscal had kept him in prison to long, on remand, before taking this case to trial, he was let out and within 48 hrs he committed this terrible murder.I would LOVE to know what kind of scentence this guy would have recieved in the US, i have NO DOUBT that he would have been severely dealt with, in the UK, 14 YEARS !!!!!!

    36. Mary, UK on July 19th, 2008 11:09 am

By the way, there is NO GUARANTEE he will serve the full term, what a bloody joke!!! dont you think !!!

    37. Mary, UK on July 19th, 2008 11:18 am

Richard, it was Manchester, England. Reading back over your post i have to disagree with your British friend, not saying that they are completely wrong but there are SOME crimes that will send the guilty to prison for life, Myra Hindley would have been one of those, she participated IN the crime, obtained the VICTIMS and was not just an on-looker, or involved after the fact.

    38. bob on July 19th, 2008 3:03 pm

“You can’t kill 8 people and get a free pass to heaven.” That’s your opinion. I strongly suggest you read the KJV Bible and find out what God says.

    39. always 1 on July 19th, 2008 9:44 pm

Ill probably get flamed for this, but I think it would be far worse to see our beautiful for just a short time before you died then to just remember what is was like from behind prison walls.(that should read beautiful world)

    40. richard on July 20th, 2008 7:49 am

Mary (#37), I think that what was in my mind was when Myra Hindley was arrested in Scotland. Some of the details are obscure in my mind (like lots of other stuff).

I do remember that at one point Ian Brady was taken out of prison to lead police to the body of one of his victims. Where have we heard THAT before? He was unable to do so, for whatever reason, and apparently one or more bodies are still buried on the moors.

I think what my friend was saying (this was several years back) was that under current guidelines, she would have been eligible for release under certain conditions; I’m not sure, and you probably know more about UK rules than I do.

My friend’s point was not that she deserved any consideration whatever, but that the notoriety of her crime was such that someone else, who committed an equally atrocious crime but didn’t have the publicity, might have gotten more consideration.

Anyway, I have no brief for Myra Hindley, who now is dead. She did what she did. (Apparently she and Rosemary West befriended each other in prison; my understanding is that Rosemary West remains there and will until her death. Talk about pure, utter trash….) But psychologists have said that on her own, had she never met Ian Brady and fallen under his influence, Myra Hindley probably would have led a normal life.

    41. MissKatie on July 20th, 2008 10:53 am

to the person who just said myra hindley was arrested in scotland. please get your facts straight. she was from manchester. and never befriended rose west. if you believe everything you hear, more fool you.
and to all you people who are like YEAHHHH LET HER DIE IN PRISON. you’re not going to like this but… you’re all as bad as she was in the 60s!
