There appears to be another missing girl in Aruba. This time its 12 year old Aruban girl, Morellia Larmonie, who has been missing since Wednesday, May 21, 2008. The Aruban police are treating the disappearance as a runaway minor. (Dutch version)
What is rather disturbing and seems to be a common thread when hearing of missing cases in Aruba, the police do not seem to make any real effort to find the missing people. The lack of seriousness, especially at the outset of missing person cases, is troubling. It is an issue that we are hearing from the parents of 12 year old Morellia Larmonie feel the need to say that “very little effort is made to actively locate the girl.”

Morellia got on the bus in Pos Chiquito last Wednesday afternoon, but never got off the bus in Rooi Hundu where she lives.
They say that the police treat the case as a ‘runaway minor’ and very little effort is made to actively locate the girl. The father doesn’t say whether there is reason for the girl to run away from Home. “She lives with her mother, so I do not know all the details. But I can’t imagine that Morellia prefers to stay in hiding and do not want to call home. I really can’t imagine that.”
UPDATE I: This is news we like to hear. According to a report that we received from Jossy Mansur, Managing editor of Diario, the 12 year old girl has been found safe by her father yesterday.

ORANJESTAD – The parents of the 12-year old Morellia Larmonie that vanished without a trace last week Wednesday, are desperately looking for witnesses that may know where the girl can be. Morellia got on the bus in Pos Chiquito last Wednesday afternoon, but never got off the bus in Rooi Hundu where she lives.
Morellia, a student of Colegio Hilario Angela at Weg Fontein north of Essoville in San Nicolas, went to visit family in Pos Chiquito after school on Wednesday. A family member walked her afterwards to the bus stop near the roundabout in construction on the main road near Pos Chiquito, where she took the bus of 16:45 home. The family member saw her get on the bus, but what happened next is not clear.
Her father says that it is not clear whether she remained on the bus till the bus stop near the chapel in Rooi Hundu, where she had to get off. The parents are asking people that were with her in the bus, if they know where she got off, to please come forward. The parents also request witnesses that possibly know whether something had happened in the bus that made the girl change her mind on going home, to please come forward.
Being at a complete loss, the parents went to the media to have a search report spread for their daughter. They say that the police treat the case as a ‘runaway minor’ and very little effort is made to actively locate the girl. The father doesn’t say whether there is reason for the girl to run away from Home. “She lives with her mother, so I do not know all the details. If friends or kids that go to school with her know or suspect where she can be, the family plead to them to come forward and tell their parents in confidence what they know. “We hope that someone comes forward and that we can close Morellia in our arms again as soon as possible. This torturing uncertainty is unbearable”, said an emotional father.
Witnesses can get in contact with Morellia’s mother via telephone number 564-1720 or her father via 560-5307. They can also call 565-2587 with tips about where the girl is staying.

Anyone think that the Aruban police and media will try to blame the parents for this?
Glad that she was found … this report doesn’t make clear whether she was injured, or even what happened.
But in this country, maybe 20 years ago police might have said there was a 48-hour waiting period, or some such thing, before they would look for a missing child or other missing person.
They don’t do that anymore.
I suppose they have more pressing things to do in Aruba … such as worry about their Frosted Flakes.

I’ve often thought that Joran and others could have kept Natalee sedated, perhaps for some time, by use of drugs. Read about this man’s death from an overdose of cocaine … one of the symptoms was foaming at the mouth. None of us thinks that Natalee would use illegal drugs willingly, but if they wanted to “get rid” of her, this could be one way… And while this man seems to have used it before, the impact on Natalee would presumably be greater.

Man died after drinking cocaine
A caravan park owner collapsed and died after drinking several glasses of cocaine mixed with water over a six-hour period, an inquest has heard.
Rodney Gray’s widow Kathryn told Belfast Coroner’s Court he had started putting the class A drug into his drink after complaining of a blocked nose.
“He used to snort it. It was only recently he swallowed it,” she said.
Coroner John Leckey found that the cause of death of the Millisle father of three had been poisoning by cocaine.
Mrs Gray said her 33-year-old husband had been using the drug for four or five months.
On the night of his death in August 2006, however, his arms and legs started to shake and his eyes glazed over.
He lay on the couple’s bed in a bid to overcome the reaction, and at one stage embraced Mrs Gray, she said.
But when he started foaming at the mouth and his skin changed colour an ambulance was called.
Mrs Gray said she made unsuccessful attempts to resuscitate her husband.

She said her husband had also been trying to relax from the stress and pressure of running his site when he took the fatal mixture.
Mr Leckey said there was no evidence that Mr Gray had suffered an adverse reaction to cocaine use before.
“Although it’s known to be taken for recreational purposes, it’s a high risk activity and death would not be unexpected, even though the person might have taken cocaine without any problems on previous occasions,” he said.
Usual for Aruba, we never get the full story, Morellia was missing for almost a whole week and the authorities did little to help, that’s believable, same thing with Jose parents, authorities did little to help that’s why they called Tim….they are pathetic and getting worse all the time…the same excuse is always used…they ran away…no crime on this island…well I’m glad to hear Morellia is back with her family….doubt if we will hear anymore about this from Aruba….

We know she was foaming at the mouth. Whether it was because of cocaine or because of a healthy left hook to the head… Natalee was captured on the beach. How did the man in the white pick-up truck know to come to the beach with a cage? Remember, witnesses saw men loading a girl in the back of a pick-up. Whether the cage was there, would not be determined as the witness would not be able to see it. Joran calls his father, who goes on the internet looking for overdose anti-dotes. Joran calls Deepak to tell him the girl is sick… and according to cell phone towers, there are people on the beach at the same time. Paulus Van der Sloot, Charles Croes, Steve Croes, who also calls Deepak to sign-in on the internet for him; Joran Van der Sloot and Natalee.
And this is where there could have been a diversion.
But, once they have her, where do they go?
The depravity of one crappy island never ceases to amaze me. I’ll bet the parents have been paid off to keep quiet about where the girl was for a week.
Some people elsewhere (not on this forum, that is) seem to have misinterpreted my point in posting that article about the water and cocaine.
No way do I think that Natalee would ever have voluntarily tried any of that garbage. But if Joran and/or others, whoever they may have been, decided that she had to be gotten rid of, a forcible overdose of cocaine would apparently have done the job, and in the “least nasty” way.
That doesn’t prove it happened, of course, but the “foaming at the mouth” detail is consistent with the way this man died. It’s one of several possibilities … and, of course, the whole tale may have been bogus, as I think much of what Joran told to Patrick was.

I agree. There were numerous lies told about Natalee. One of which is that she was having sex in the back seat of Deepak’s car while an X-rated movie was playing. I don’t believe that for a minute, either!
However, this last story about the people in Curacao insisting that a private jet had landed in Aruba the day that Natalee went missing, makes me wonder if there was a connection. If it wasn’t Beth’s plane, then who’s was it? Unfortunately, the only ones that know are either in Aruba or the Netherlands and they aren’t talking.
It is, truly, amazing that we had not heard of this missing girl until AFTER she was found. Even more troubling is the way that her disappearance, also, went uninvestigated, unreported and unsolved. It reminds me of the Aruban women who were jealous of Beth because she and her daughter were getting so much attention, while the disappearances of their own children are ignored. What is it that makes the people of Aruba so complacent when it comes to their corrupt and inept justice system and why aren’t the authorities working with the media on Aruba in getting the news out in cases such as this?

My thoughts and prayers are with Morellia and her father. His persistance in searching for his daughter is a testimony of his love for her. Rejoice in eachother’s arms in the knowledge that there are, literally, thousands of cases just like this one that does not end on such a happy note. I pray that Morellia is brave, like her father, and will, one day, share her experience with others in an attempt to stop this from happening again. God Bless and keep you and your family from harm during this most trying time.

I am glad that this girl has been found safe,but it would be interesting to HOW he felt about Beth Holloway when she was looking for Natalee. Was he in sympathy with Beth and Dave then or in the street protesting.

jossy and diario seem to be the only ones outraged over the l6yr. old girl gangraped at her school. the boys and l adult took cellphone pics of their activities. the girl had to leave the island and her parents to finish her schooling, the rapists were never arrested or charged, and jossy ran an article in diario hoping the rapists would at least delete the pics from and phones and begged them not to release the pics on the internet.
