Joseph Fritzl will do prison time, but what happens to the lives of his daughter and the children he forced his OWN FLESH AND BLOOD to have.
What happens to these humans????????????
This is most upsetting to read about. And, it is sickening to even read about. Horror movie you say?? It’s a living nightmare to even begin to contemplate or imagine the hell hole his poor daughter and her offspring have lived with through all the years. My heart aches for her and her children.
This is really a horrific story!
24 years in this cellar!?!?!?!?!?!?
Being born there, never seeing any daylight and growing up there till the age of 19!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I already get nervous when a door of a livingroom or the bathroom doesn’t open immediately….
24 years… 19 years… and the other two children as well?????
Really shocking! What a pain these people had to endure! And will have to deal with for the coming years…
What a beast.., what an animal this Fritzl! Evil in the flesh!
And remember, just years earlier the Austrian woman Natascha K. (can’t spell her last name) emerged from (I think) ten years of captivity.
These stories are of course extraordinary … I can’t think of anything on the scale of this … but when you read them (hopefully we never will read another one), you are inclined to think about some such bizarre fate having happened to Natalee Holloway.
I don’t believe it … but we can’t rule out anything until we know for certain.
There is strong reason to believe that Amy Bradley remains alive, and in duress.
Anyway, the enormity of this piece of trash forcing his own daughter to have seven children of his (one died, and the body was casually thrown in the incinerator) is beyond our ability to comprehend.
It’s said that some of the children born in this basement communicated with each other by growls, not “words,” and that some of them were shocked when they saw the moon, for the first time ever.
The extent of psychiatric care that they will need is something that none of us can envision.
I read that, outside the centers where they are being treated, a darkened cage is provided … and that they can go there for refuge if they feel overwhelmed by “our” world.
God help them.
This right here just goes to show that their are some really craz psychos in our world that we live in!!This monster should have to pay for his disgusting acts!!!
I hope the justice system there in austria fights for the victims better than ours here in america!!I Pray they give him just what he deserves!!!You know where’s the ppl these days that give a D**N about the children!!It makes me sick when I hear stories like this!!You know if things were still an eye for an eye I bet ppl like him would think twice before they commit these heinous acts!!
Story from Austria today (May 4) … this ‘person’ is going to plead insanity.
Surprise, surprise.
By the way, there is a story from Austria saying that a second man had access to the cellar where this girl was confined for 24 years and was forced to bear seven children. It seems that this story is just getting more and more horrific.
The residents of the city where this happened cancelled the May Day celebrations in a kind of mass atonement. At least they seem to have some kind of moral consciousness, unlike Aruba.

‘Second man had access to cellar’
ITN – Friday, May 2 11:49 am
Austrian police are investigating claims a second man had access to the cellar where Josef Fritzl imprisoned his daughter for 24 years.
The 73-year-old is in police custody after admitting he imprisoned Elisabeth Fritzl, who bore seven children by him.
A former lodger, who lived at the house in Amstetten for 12 years, has reportedly said another man also had access to the basement.
Alfred Dubanovsky, who said he and other lodgers were strictly forbidden to enter the basement, said Fritzl introduced the other man to him as a plumber, and was told the noises he heard coming from there had been the heating system.
Meanwhile, the country’s Österreich newspaper has been told by Fritzl’s sister-in-law, identified only as Christine R, that he would routinely go the cellar at 9am each morning, saying he had to “draw plans for machines, which he sold to firms.”
She said his wife Rosemarie wasn’t even allowed to bring him a coffee once he was down there.
Fritzl separated Elisabeth from three of her babies shortly after they were born but kept her locked up in the windowless cellar with another three children. A seventh baby died and he burned its body in the boiler used to heat his house.
Elisabeth’s fate came to light when her eldest child, a 19-year-old girl, became ill and was taken to hospital. She is in a stable but critical condition in an artificially-induced coma and breathing with a ventilator.
It has also emerged that Fritzl pretended to be Elisabeth – who remains in a psychiatric clinic with her children – in phone call to his wife in 1994, according to a police official.
Faking his daughter’s voice, Josef Fritzl called his wife and asked her to look after Elisabeth’s baby, who had been left on the doorstep.
Reinhard Nosofsky, a regional police department official, said: “Rosemarie Fritzl made a report about it at Amstetten police station in 1994. This report was passed on to the prosecutors’ office. She could not explain the call and had not recorded it. We now know it was Fritzl.”
Authorities also had a letter from Elisabeth asking her parents to look after her baby and not to look for her which police now know Fritzl forced her to write.
Fritzl is being investigated for rape, incest, coercion and the death of the seventh child.
Meanwhile, the residents of Amstetten have cancelled May Day celebrations following the revelations of incest and kidnap in their quiet town.
Many are spending the day at home and others attended a special mass this morning. Aside from the reporters and police outside Fritzl’s home, only a few people could be seen on the streets.
One resident, Kurt Sternecker, said: “We are touched because this is a unique case and he is not normal. It’s not possible that a normal person can act like this. Of course the whole city of Amstetten now has a bad image but of course that’s not OK because not all Amstetten citizens are like him, because he’s not normal.”
Police in Austria are also investigating claims Fritzl could have murdered 17-year-old Martina Posch, who bore a striking resemblance to Elisabeth Fritzl, the daughter he held in captivity for 24 years and with whom he fathered seven children.
Ms Posch’s bound body was found on a shore of the Upper Austrian lake of Mondsee on November 12, 1986. Fritzl’s wife owned part of an inn and camping ground on the other side of the lake at the time of the murder.
