The Leader of the Band, Singer & Song Writer Dan Fogelberg Dies at the Age of 56
Singer and song writer, Dan Fogelberg, passed away today at the age of 56 at his home in Maine after battling prostate cancer. Dan Fogelberg was known for his 1980’s soft music ballads such as “Leader of the Band”, “The Innocent Age” and “Same Old Lang Syne”. However, Dan Fogelberg’s passing reminds me on a personal note of a long college friend who I have not talked to in far to long. He and his wife’s wedding song was “Longer”.
Through the years as the fire starts to mellow
Burning lines in the book of our lives
Though the binding cracks and the pages start to yellow
Ill be in love with you.
Its a reminder of what truly great lyrics Dan wrote and songs he sang. Dan Fogelberg will be missed, rest in peace.
Dan Fogelberg, the singer and songwriter whose hits “Leader of the Band” and “Same Old Lang Syne” helped define the soft-rock era, died Sunday at his home in Maine after battling prostate cancer. He was 56.
His death was announced in a statement released by his family through the firm Scoop Marketing, and it was also posted on the singer’s Web site.
“Dan left us this morning at 6:00 a.m. He fought a brave battle with cancer and died peacefully at home in Maine with his wife Jean at his side,” it read. “His strength, dignity and grace in the face of the daunting challenges of this disease were an inspiration to all who knew him.” (FOX News)
Bill Clinton, the Pot Calls the Kettle black … Obama Isn’t Ready, Too Inexperienced
Bill, maybe Democrats do not want someone from the establishment? They didn’t when you were nominated. What a difference an election makes … its all depended on what spin is.
This is almost comical and the act of a desperate political camp that has seen Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers take a downfall in some key early state primaries. Former president Bill Clinton seems to be calling the kettle black by making the reference that Barack Obama is too inexperienced to be president. I guess it was a different set of spin when Bill Clinton was running for the same position and his lack of experience.
Former President Bill Clinton made an unusually direct attack Friday night on Senator Barack Obama, one of his wife’s leading rivals for the Democratic presidential nomination, suggesting that voters who would support someone with Mr. Obama’s experience were willing to “roll the dice” on the presidency.
Appearing on “The Charlie Rose Show” on PBS, Mr. Clinton repeatedly questioned Mr. Obama’s preparedness for the White House, noting that he took office in January 2005 and became a presidential candidate about two years later. (Mr. Obama was an Illinois state senator before that.) (NY Times)

TV Anchor Alycia Lane Charged With Assaulting a Police officer
News anchor Alycia Lane once again finds herself instead of reporting the news … being the news. First the email bikini pics to NFL Networks, Rich Risen, and now this.
NEW YORK (AP) — A television news anchor who made headlines for sending photos of herself in a bikini to a married man at the NFL Network was arrested Sunday after she punched a police officer in the face, authorities said.
Emmy Award winner Alycia Lane hit the female officer in Manhattan about 2 a.m. Sunday, said police, who provided no information about what led to the incident. The officer was treated at a hospital for a cut and was released.
Lane, 35, was arraigned on a felony charge of assaulting a police officer and pleaded not guilty, said her lawyer, David Smith.
PHILLY ANCHOR Alycia Lane is scheduled to appear on TV tomorrow night in “Celebrate the Season,” an annual special highlighting holiday cheer in the Delaware Valley. Not so fast.
