It’s amazing the power and mercy of God. I read about this on AOL and you know what I was somewhat bitter about it. I was thinking the nerve of this kid to just wander off because he doesn’t want to be there anymore, and the nerve of this kid to demand a helicopter ride out of there…etc. But when you take a step back and look at things, that boy could’ve gone through way worse than what he did. Our God is an awesome God and I’m sure thankful he loves us. My prayers go out to him and his family. Thank goodness for those dogs!

A lot of credit goes to the boy’s parents for sending him out with fleece and a good coat. Those cold nights could have done him in. All parents should teach their kids about basic survival as soon as they are old enough to learn. Same thing goes for learning how to swim. Many tragedies could be averted.

Yes indeed, thank God that this boy is ok.

However, I must disagree with all of you listed above me.

Reports say that he wandered off after being reprimanded by a scout leader. Added with the fact that, true, he did not really want to be there.

However, at the same time, you have to respect adults.

The kid left and went hiding. There is no way possible he wasn’t able to hear people calling for him, and he was only a mile and a half away, some reports say less than that.

He was hiding and did not want to be found. Reports say that he did hear people calling for him. Ummm, please explain to me why he did not go towards the sounds. What? Did he want the people to come to him or something?

No. He was mad and he did not want to be found.

The kid needs a beating and boot camp. He would also need a summer job to help pay for all of the manpower that went into his search.

Now I heard that he is going to get a parade…you gotta be kidding me. You get rewarded for bad behavior? Wow…

Thank God he is ok, but he needs his @$$ whipped.

Sickman, I think the kid has major mental problems (probably not fit for the scouts) but that doesn’t excuse him. I also don’t think he should be getting a parade at all.
