RSSBoston Woman Sues for “wrongful birth” after failed abortion … How Wrong is This?
It just doesn’t get any more wrong than being able to sue for “wrongful birth”. What 
have we come to? A Boston woman sues after giving birth after a failed abortion.
The complaint was filed by Jennifer Raper, 45, last week in Suffolk Superior Court and still must be screened by a special panel before it can proceed to trial. (Boston Globe)
One might ask the question if this woman should even have a child that she wished dead. Have we lost our collective minds as a society. Whether abortion is legal or not, she wanted this child dead. Why are we going to pay her to bring up a child she did not want? This is insane. Seems that The Corner has the same issue.
That the phrase “wrongful birth” exists and a mother would ever conceive of making a legal case out of wishing her kid was never born does always seem to me a clear sign the end is nigh and Judgement Day won’t be merciful to our national soul.
One would ask the obvious question. Why is she suing for damages? Are the damages the cost of raising a child? It would seem obvious that if she was willing to kill, excuse me I mean abort the child then why doesn’t she just give the child up for adoption. Wouldn’t that be the obvious thing to do? She does not want the child so why does she keep it? Because its a meal ticket, not a baby. Honestly, what does this woman ever say to her baby later on in life? We wished you were dead, but it turned out better that you lived. WTF! Red State sums it up all too well.
This story, however, is different in this respect; the abortion sought by the woman in this case sought an abortion purely for financial reasons. Thus, when her child grows up, she will not even be able to say to her child, “I wanted to save you the suffering that I knew your life will entail.” Instead, her story will be “I just wished that you were dead because I didn’t want to pay to raise you.”
This is truly one of the most repulsive stories I have seen in quite some time. Looking to financially gain off a child you wanted dead. I am at a loss for words.
- Stop the ACLU: To think, even after living two years with the blessing of this little miracle this sick woman still looks at her daughter as an “unwanted child.”

We have finally crossed into the hell in a handbasket mentality. How wrong is this? Very… it’s beyond words I have to express my outrage.
someone please take pity on this child and remove it from the hell it’s living in. and will live in till it’s grown.
leaving the child with this mother is a crime in itself. how has she been able to keep it this long.

What a soulless, empty person this woman must be, but forget her. Our hearts should ache for this poor child whose own mother looks at her and sees, not a blessing from God, but a liability that someone else should have to pay for. The child should be taken from her and given to loving parents who will cherish her. Then, at least Miss Raper won’t have to be bothered with the terrible inconvenience of buying cake and candles on her child’s “wrongful” birthday every year.

Recently while in Dallas, I read an article that said Parkland hospital records 32 daily births of “undocumented workers:

32 babies a day at one hospital in Dallas. This makes up 75% of the babies born in Dallas. The article was called the Mexican Invasion.
ABORTION is WRONG. Dallas has declared itself a SAFE HAVEN for illegals. Essentially disregarding Federal Law.
Maybe we should borrow a page from this and say Cleveland, Dallas and St Louis are SAFE HAVENS against abortions. BABIES will be born period. This country may be teetering on civil anarchy. At least the latinos understand that babies are a gift. They may be illegal or undocumented, but they understand that babies are to be born. In the USA, we abort them, (may God forgive us) and when we can’t have our way, we sue! Incredible. The LEFT has us believing we need to stop having babies and to abort, abort, abort, while they foster the births of undocumented workers. We will lose this great country God gave us. We have men and women dying to protect our freedoms, while at home our lawyers and politicians squander away our freedoms.
Fundamentally America must decide is it a child or is it a choice. What stops people from suing that their kid was born with this color eyes or that color hair? Sad. very sad.
We should really be thankful for our parents.
I agree get the child away from her, she had decided she did not want this child. Let someone who truly values a child raise and love this child.
Please do not call her a mother, in the sense of nuturing, mother maybe in another sense.

That the courts would even entertain this sort of lawsuit is absurd. This sort of legal action explains why our medical bills are sky-high. If doctors have to deal with this type of lawsuit, how can they ever focus on their jobs? How can doctors NOT raise their rates when they have to retain lawyers to defend them against this nonsense? We are paying for these unethical and self-concerned money-grubbers who have no regard for the sanctity of human life. That is outrageous.
Come on, we’re in “Kennedy” country… being N. of Boston.. it’s reprehensible, heinous, outrageous, that this is even happening.

I couldn’t agree more, with Skyboxx… to add to this autrocity, how about taking “in God we Trust, off the new dollar coin… how about removing (the God part) out of the military folding of the flag, during military funerals….to honor those who fought and died for our country…

The Gvnmt’ is no longer enforcing the law… (well they tried here in New Bedford and arrested 350 illegal Aliens)… kind of late to enforce it now… all in the name of “homeland security”… should be interesting how this will be resolved… oh, as of late, there is law, trying to be passed, so illegals can vote…What is that?? dangerous stuff, my friend… our Governor, wishes for Illegals to be able to get a valid Drivers License… why bother, you can get a fake ID cheaper, not to mention S.S. #., (read the Globe article yesterday), ACLU, trying to take away our freedoms, it’s pathetic, what’s happening to our country ~ anything goes.

Right on….why have laws ……our own government won’t enforce?
What dum ass lawyer would even take this case!! Someone like her I guess! (I,m not saying all lawyers are dumasses just this one), if she doesn’t want to get pregers she should keep her legs closed!!! or take precautions but I guess that cost money to seeing this is about money!! I hope the court takes the child and tells her to get a life!! There are to many good people in this world that can’t have a child that would love and see that the child has a great life!! God Bless this little baby and keep it safe!!
Why would she keep a baby for 2 years she doesn’t/didn’t want? I take it she is so F-in’ ignorant she has never heard of giving an unwanted child up for adoption to someone who would like one. People are way to selfish these days.
i’m not in the medical field but i’m amazed that raper was able to have a normal child after the proceedure. maybe she was prego with fraternal twins?
i hope she has a jury trial with mothers on the jury. any mom can say that a 2 year old would melt your heart. it would take a heartless wench to file these charges this late in the game (or not to drop them) obviously $$$ motivated!
I feel so horrible for this poor child. There are many people who would be wonderful parents who cannot concieve. It blows my mind that people like this lady can. What a poor excuse for a human being! I hope they take that child away from her, and put her in a loving home where she will be appreciated.
What a God-aweful human being. Seriously. You can’t afford your child? ADOPT IT OUT. Someone out there would truly LOVE the baby girl. I have a 2/year old. I can’t IMAGINE doing a case like that… she OBVIOUSLY cannot love her daughter… CPS should definitely be assigned to that case!
What is she going to tell her daugther later? I wanted you dead so badly I later sued someone for NOT killing you?! Obviously this little girl is MEANT to live. It seems to me like it would be a danger to leave the little girl with her biological mother. Whats stopping her from “aborting” her now? Post-birth abortion, if you will?

There is a similar case like this where the woman was awarded $106,000 because the murderer, ahem, abortionist i mean, only managed to kill one of the twins. Now the other baby is alive still, gasp.
