Clint’s commentary about Clay Moore and safety tips for children always seem to be so much common sense, yet not many of us think of these things. Every parent should get a copy of his dvd from http://www.livesecure.org. (If that’s the wrong web address, I trust a really smart monkey will correct me.)
Pixie and Lafern were interesting. I haven’t been watching the cable news shows lately, not because Anna Nicole Smith’s death doesn’t have some worthwhile aspects, but because the cable stations are overplaying the story. Some stations readily admit their ratings have increased for this story, but can they keep that audience once they run out of headlines? And do they get viewers like me back once the 24 hour Anna coverage ends? (It seems this coverage is coming to an end, but my TV is still off.)
Whether it’s Natalee Holloway, Anna Nicole Smith, Hurricane Katrina or Gerald Ford’s funeral, the media seems to latch on to the event of the hour and run it into the ground. I was hoping Lafern or Pixie would predict that the next event in the evolution of news media would be Dana Pretzer’s style of talk radio or tv.
I do think the media is over the top at times in their quest to get a story, although Lafern didn’t seem to want to condemn them.
Pixie’s comments and cautions about child stars is particularly appropriate in this age of videos, reality shows and Youtube when everyone wants to be a star. Tyra Banks has done a lot to warn young people about the dangers of trying to break into modeling; there should be some caveats about acting.
