Al Gore’s Inconvenient “Utility Bill” Truth … The Empire Strikes Back
Al Gore Star Wars: The Empire strikes back to allegations of Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” that his Tennessee mansion uses 20 times the average energy consumption of a normal home. “We have everything we need to get started with the possible exception of the will to act.” I guess Al Gore is talking from experience.
Responding to Drudge’s attack, Vice President Gore’s office told ThinkProgress:
1) Gore’s family has taken numerous steps to reduce the carbon footprint of their private residence, including signing up for 100 percent green power through Green Power Switch, installing solar panels, and using compact fluorescent bulbs and other energy saving technology.
2) Gore has had a consistent position of purchasing carbon offsets to offset the family’s carbon footprint – a concept the right-wing fails to understand. Gore’s office explains:
What Mr. Gore has asked is that every family calculate their carbon footprint and try to reduce it as much as possible. Once they have done so, he then advocates that they purchase offsets, as the Gore’s do, to bring their footprint down to zero.
So in other words his house could use even more energy, that’s his excuse? So Gore still continues to demand others do without, while he gets a pass. The Anchores has a great analysis of this Gorism,
“Gore has bought his indulgences, so his soul is green and pristine and he will still go to ecology heaven. Whew. Thank goodness! Now the rest of you, just buy your indulgences and you can pollute all you want – it all evens out! Can’t you figure that out, yet?”
The Captains Quarters chimes in and states the most obvious thing missing of Gore’s comeback … “Interesting that he doesn’t dispute the numbers; he just tries a little misdirection instead.”
Not to be out done Anne Coulter via Hot Air comes up with her own revelations and has a new found respect for Al Gore: “he may be a hypocrite but at least he’s not a moron”
“I kind of respect him more, it shows he is not stupid enough to believe all this global warming nonsense. He’s trying to get us to believe. Okay, fine, he may be a hypocrite but at least he’s not a moron.”

I still want to know, how did he get to the award show?
Bicycle?
R
Someone said he arrived to the awards on a white horse. Uncle Al’s utility bills for 2006 was 30 grand, yeah Al that’s GREEN
Got huge carbon foot print eh
So Al seems to be saying: If you have enough money to buy your footprint then it’s okay to leave as big of a print as you want.
Reminds me of Bigfoot…
Wow….how dissappointing. In earlier threads I pointed out that more good than harm comes out of his devotion to this topic….but perhaps not if people like me become jaded by his self-Righteousness.
To even suggest that buying vouchers is the same as conserving is pathetic (and not in a touchy-feely way).
Do a google of Nasa scientists, saying global warming is a hoax. Trees take in CD and make ox. Says the earth itself with out industry, fuel etc. make CD.
