Acetaminophen Recall – 11 Million Bottles Possibly Tainted With Metal Bits

Recalled_acetaminophenThe maker of most store brand acetaminophen has announce a recall of over 11 million bottles of the drug that is mainly sold as a store brand. The pills were tainted with bits of metal from a 3rd party supplier the company stated. While there has been no one hurt by the medicine yet, this is something to be on the lookout for.

Perrigo Co. said it discovered the metal bits during quality-control checks.
The recall affects bottles containing various amounts of 500-milligram caplets.
Perrigo bills itself as the world’s largest manufacturer of store-brand non-prescription drugs. The Allegan, Mich., company did not disclose the chains for which it manufactures the store-brand acetaminophen.
However, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., CVS Corp., Walgreen Co. and Costco Wholesale Corp. are among the companies it supplies with health care products, according to company Securities and Exchange Commission filings.
Perrigo said the pills contained raw material purchased from a third-party supplier and affected 383 batches.
Acetaminophen is best known as the drug in products sold under the Tylenol brand, but is widely available in generic versions. The recall does not affect Tylenol. The recall should not cause a shortage of acetaminophen, the Food and Drug Administration said. via USATODAY.com.

Cindy Sheehan Arrested Again in Washington, DC … Her act is Getting Old

The self-proclaimed “Peace” mom, Cindy Sheehan was arrested again on the Cindy Sheehan DCsidewalk outside the White House on Wednesday night. For someone who is all about the peace, she seems to be getting arrested an awful lot for “disturbing the peace”. This is getting a bit old.

Before she was arrested, she joined the protesters in hailing the outcome of Tuesday’s elections and chanting “Stop the War” outside the gate. “It was taking too long for them to decide whether to accept them or not, so we just delivered them,” said Sheehan, who waited about 15 minutes with other protesters before tossing the petitions over the fence. Canada, Don’t Worry about your Tourism … It could be worse … You could be Uruguay or Aruba

It seems that our friends in “The Great White North” are having some tourism issues lately. IgorCanada’s tourism rate has gone down 4.1%, while tourists traveling abroad is up about 4.5%. We just want to remind them it could be worse. Just remember Canada, to borrow a line from Young Frankenstein.’

Igor: Could be worse.
Dr. Frederick Frankenstein: How?
Igor: Could be raining …“Or Aruba”

So how could it be worse? Read on … One knows when they have made it to the bottom of  the tourism food chain when they are referenced in the same sentence as tourism hot spots like Montserrat and Uruguay. That’s correct Aruba, “One Happy Island,” mentioned in the same sentence as these two declining tourism hot beds.

Uruguay … tastes just like Aruba

In the Americas, Canada’s percentage decline is exceeded only by Montserrat, where the Soufriere Hill volcano that erupted with devastating effect in 1995 is still rumbling; Aruba, scene of the much-publicized Natalee Holloway murder; and Uruguay. (Winnipeg Free Press)

Convicted DC Beltway Sniper Lee Boyd Malvo Sentenced to Life in Prison in MD … Because Once is Never Enough

Washington DC Belt-way Sniper Lee Boyd Malvo was sentenced today to life in prison for Lee boyd malvosix murders in Maryland during Malovo’s and John Allen Muhammad’s reign of terror in 2002. The bizarre fact is that Malvo will most likely never see the inside of a Maryland prison. No, its not because a prosecutor and judge copped a plea deal where Lee Boyd Malvo will be forced to wear a t-shirt that says, “ I am a Sniper”. The fact of the matter is that Lee Boyd Malvo previously been sentenced to life in prison in Virginia

The Maryland trial in Montgomery County Circuit Court included Malvo’s chilling insider account of his trip across the country with accomplice and mentor John Allen Muhammad.

Malvo, 21, pleaded guilty in October to the murders in Montgomery County, where the spree of 13 shootings began and ended in October 2002. (Breitbart)

With misguided parole board decisions these days, I guess one can never be sentenced too many times to life in prison. Judicial “overkill” if you will and welcomed.
