Peter de Vries Investigates the Natalee Holloway Disappearance in Aruba … Lies and conflicts of Interest

It is apparent that Investigative Crime reporter Peter R. de Vries feels that the case of missing Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway is one of  lies, conflicts of interest and highly sensitive police information. It is also apparent who he is focusing on.

Today at 3:00 PM EDT, 9:00 PM in The Netherlands, Peter R. de Vries will be airing a show regarding the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. After 18 months of a less than stellar performance by Aruban officials and investigators in Aruba in handling the Natalee Holloway case, Dutch investigative reporter Peter de Vries is taking on the case.  De Vries will be looking at all aspects of the case, existing evidence, primary suspects, statements and all the elements that the ALE and prosecutors should have paid attention to.

In an extra long program of almost 80 minutes, Peter de Vries pays extended attention on Sunday to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, at the end of May 2005. He shows us alot of aspects of this mystery. De Vries investigated in the Netherlands and was recently in Aruba for a week researching.  Peter R. de Vries has spoken with several people concerning the case.

Discussions have been conducted with a number of people confidentially and sometimes in secret, which have produced 6 new revealing facts according to SBS. In the program, it is shown that main suspect Joran van der Sloot has not only lied about the fact that he dropped Natalee off at the Holiday Inn hotel, but that there are more points in his declaration that are not correct.
 
Also, in the investigation of the disappearance, it has come to light the importance of a battle at the justice level between the chief public prosecutor and the Procurator-General on Aruba, a violent conflict concerning the matter. Also it is indicated that during the investigation, remarkable decisions were made and things gone wrong. The police force has meanwhile a new theory concerning what happened that night and particularly where it took place. One for example no longer believes that Joran left Natalee behind on the beach. Joran, we told you back on July 21, 2006 not to get too comfortable and that you were still a suspect. You and yours just did not want to listen.  It appears something may still be on your back.

Scottish Man Escapes Prison to See Girlfriend – Wants Back In Shortly Thereafter

Sometimes inaction is the best way to go through life. A Scottish man serving a 4 year sentence desperately wanted to see his girlfriend after a couple of years in jail. He escaped and then showed up on her doorstep.

Gary Stephen realised partner Tracy Miller was pregnant with another man’s child before he phoned police and asked to taken back to the jail.
The 35-year-old, from Kirkcaldy, Fife, admitted absconding from Castle Huntly prison, near Dundee, on 19 November.
At Perth Sheriff Court, Stephen had 20 days added to his sentence.  via the BBC NEWS

How Wrong is This? Free Baby offered on Internet on Craigs List

San Diego police are investigating a potential child endangerment case as the on-line classified web service CraigsList  had a posting for a free baby. The ad has since been taken down. What are people thinking?

“The copy of the ad sent to us shows a picture of a baby,” San Diego police Sgt. Jim Schorr said. “We immediately contacted our child-abuse detectives in an attempt to find out if this was some kind of hoax. We are taking this very seriously.”

The copy given to police says: “Free baby boy to good home. My ex-girlfriend had him a few weeks ago, but now he just sits in my closet and cries. I’m not too sure how to deal with it, and I’m in a pretty low financial spot. I lost all the baby accessories. Batteries not included. Transaction final. No returns. Guaranteed not DOA.” (San Diego Union Tribune)
