Reuters Reporting Hugo Chavez on Way to Victory

It looks like Venezuelan’s are choosing Marxism today. Reuters is reporting that Hugo Chavez, the anti-American is winning by a 61–38 percent margin. Following the example set by the Democratic Party, Chavez ran essentially an anti-Bush candidacy.

Freedom loving Venezuelan’s staged protests in the streets against the Marxist candidate, but Chavez is wily. He has taken the oil surplus over the past year and invested it in the poorer communities. That has engendered extreme loyalty from the the poorest in Venezuela.

Anti-U.S. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez was headed for a landslide re-election win on Sunday, according to partial results from the National Electoral Council.
The leftist incumbent won 61 percent, while Manuel Rosales, a governor of an oil-producing province who united the opposition, trailed with 38 percent after 78 percent of the vote had been counted, the council said.
If the trend continues, Chavez, 52, would have a strong majority to press his self-styled socialist revolution at home and forge an anti-U.S. front in Latin America to counter what he calls the superpower’s “imperialism.” via Reuters.com.

Word out of Venezuala is that he shut down any TV media that did not lean towards favoring him. Telemundo was shut down until after the elections!

Wonder what Jimmy Carter is gonna say about that! md

Thats Bull. The government shut down Telemundo a Miami based Spanish language station that is owned by NBC.They did not have the proper permits. There are 5 private stations there and 3 of them are anti Chavez.

Chavez wins regardless of the votes. If the votes
don’t add up, they are deleted. Send Jimmy “anti
american”, traitor Carter to venezuela for life. He
is an agent of Chavez, Castro and others that hate
America. When he dies, I guess we can stop giving
him our tax money to berate America. It is no secret
that I hate Jimmy Castro Chavez Carter Jr.

      ashishauriora,

      Read it and weep:

      Telemundo: Authorities halt election coverage

CARACAS, Venezuela — Officials identifying themselves as members of a regulatory agency forced the U.S.-based Spanish-language TV network Telemundo to halt transmission Sunday of its presidential election coverage.

The officials said the network needed permission to transmit and, lacking such, could not, said Pablo Iacub, a member of Telemundo’s eight-person team. Iacub said he was unaware of such a requirement but that the Telemundo journalists were accredited with Venezuela’s elections council.

      >>>> How convenient….they didn’t have the appropriate ‘permits’ on the eve of the election.

It is also being reported that soldiers loyal to Chavez ordered polling stations to remain open well past close time to assure that they got enough votes for Chavez.

I hope Jimmy Carter was down there protecting the integrity of this election!!! Absolute power corrupts….as it has done with Chavez. md
