There’s a lot of crap going on in Congress all the time.
There’s a lot of crap going on in Congress all the time.Â
Those immortal words by the expected Majority leader of the house about ethics violations to Chris Matthews last night typlify the arrogance of the Pelosi machine in dealing with the culture of corruption she ran on getting fixed.
John Murtha’s appearance on Chris Mathews, who admitted to being an old friend of Murtha’s, shine the light on this notorious back room dealer. He feels worrying about corruption and special dealing is crap. In his own words last night.
What I said was, it’s total crap, the idea we have to deal with an issue like this, when—and it is total crap that we have to deal with an issue like this when we’ve got a war going on and we got all these other issues — $8 billion a month we’re spending—
So lets deal with the war and let me keep doing back room deals with my lobbyist brother Murtha implies to the nation.
If the Democrats want to be a serious force in cleaning up Washington’s corruption, Murtha can not be the Majority leader of the House. It is that simple.
And if they do want to keep this up, I have a feeling the American public will realize a chastised Republican party may be for them in 2008.

Congress IS a lot of crap. According to the latest polls I have seen, more people oppose their performance than support it. The best argument that conservatives have is to point to the people running things, and then say: “THIS is why we believe the scope of government should be held in restraint.”
