Natalee Holloway Investigation: Sander Gottenbus June 16, 2005 Statements
The fact still remains that it is almost unbelievable that Koen Gottenbus was not questioned by Aruban authorities. His younger brother was questioned; however, we are told that Koen was not. Makes no sense at all. Nice investigative work ALE.
Reading through Sander’s statement one thing comes to mind that obviously the ALE decided was beyond their comprehension. How does Sander Gottenbus know every minute detail of Joran Van der Sloot’s “lie”? The Holiday Inn and the initial story that Joran told was a fraud? Not that Joran would not have told him roughly what he claimed to have occurred that night. The problem is in the details. The continual reference and repeating of Natalee “wanting to see sharks at the lighthouse” makes no sense when teenage boys are discussing the events. Teenage boys worried about such minute details? Hardly. Teenage girls worry about the details … that is why men are from Mars and women are from Venus. Joran Van der Sloot et al made sure that all knew the precise details of a fake story. Isn’t this what Mickey John was referring to when he said the family met to discuss the situation. ALE, why is that? Did it never dawn on you why so many knew the lie?
Sander goes on to say that he has seen Joran four times since Natalee Holloway went missing and has been at his house three times as well. No concerted effort there to make sure all know what to say.
Here is a piece of information that we have not heard Joran or Paulus say …
On the question of whether you have seen Joran at the Racquet Club after it happened.
“I have seen him at the Racquet Club. I think it was a week afterwards. He was with his father. They participated in a father and son tournament.
Even at the very least if all that JVDS did as he claims is leave Natalee Holloway on the beach and she goes missing never to be seen again … Joran, racked with guilt goes and plays tennis. Never once helped look for Natalee, but played tennis and made sure all his friends knew the detailed lie that he concocted. Even worse when you consider Joran Van der Sloot is a prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
