Anti-Defamation League Call Out Keith Olbermann
People actually find Keith Olbermann’s use of the “Nazi Sieg Heil” salute offensive? Really, what part of it isn’t offensive? The Anti-Defamation League seems to agree. By the way Keith, there is nothing funny or entertaining about a reference to such a heinous symbol.
The Nazi salute is more than just a remnant of history, but serves as a calling card for modern-day neo-Nazis and white supremacists. We believe that the use of gestures and imagery associated with the Nazis – even in jest – only serves to trivialize the Holocaust and denigrate the memory of the six million Jews and others who died as a result of Hitler’s Final Solution.
But why does Keith Olbermann place such pathetic sick games that are so offense to many including Holocaust survivors? The Anti-Defamation league would just like him to stop.
As a respected and well-known media personality, your actions have consequences and can set a standard for others to emulate. We are especially concerned that young people viewing your program might take their cues from your free use of the “Sieg Heil” salute. (ADL)
Why does he continue? Maybe because Keith Olbermann is far from a well known respected media personality. However, Why Keith Olbermann picks fights with Bill O’Reilly and the “O’Reilly Factor” and feel the need to use a Nazi salute? Maybe he is desperate for any attention no matter how he get it? With numbers like this … I would say yes.
