The investigation in to the disappearance of VCU freshman Taylor Behl took a strange twist yesterday. The 38 year old amateur photographer, Ben Fawley, who has been rumored to have had a relationship with Taylor Behl was linked to a child pornography investigation according to court documents as reported by NBC4.
The investigation into a missing Virginia Commonwealth University freshman from Vienna took a new turn Wednesday.
Police filed unrelated charges against a person questioned in the student’s disappearance.
Police searched the apartment of 38-year-old photographer Ben Fawley as part of a child pornography investigation, according to court documents. According to the search warrant, investigators went to Fawley’s apartment looking for images and documents related to child pornography and the distribution of child pornography. Investigators said they took away at least five computers and an assortment of computer equipment.

I do hope that the Aruban LE and Judiciary are paying attention here.
watching this case unfold is amazing, i really hope taylor is alive and natalee too but things don’t look very good for either girl.
but look how much more has been accomplished in virginia in 2 weeks than has been done in almost 4 mos. on aruba. and aruba can’t understand why the entire u.s.a. is upset with them.
someone should send a copy of each day’s followup on this case to diario. jossy would publish it, i bet.
So if it turns out that Ben Fawley had nothing to do with the girl’s abduction, are you going to apologize for all of your wild speculating?
The police did find porn videos on Ben’s computer involving children as young as 1 yr. He did have a relationship with this girl. He has a record of violence and car theft ( which he LOVES to brag about). This is not “wild speculating”. The police have good reasons to believe that he may have had something to do with her dissapearance. I know him and was only suprised by the child porn. I only hope that his daughters are ok.
Ben was ‘abducted.’

I was out very early, not sure of the time but the sun hadn’t been up long. I was heading up to Monument to take photos when 3 to 4 guys jumped me. They got a trash bag over my head before I could see them. Tossed me into a car and dumped me out on some dirt road. I wasn’t hurt much, just from where that sat on me. As they never said a word I am sure this was not just a robbery. My one camera and tripod is missing along with the $20.00 I had tucked in the camera. I didn’t have my wallet, but I did have my bank card and that wasn’t taken…
Three to four guys… in a frightening situation like the one Fawley describes, wouldn’t you be absolutely clear on how many people were attacking you? Wouldn’t you be trying to figure out everything you could? And did the ‘trash bag’ have some convenient airholes in it? Because a man in a panic, swaddled in a trashbag, being sat on by other men — how long would he last?
What was the point to the attack, then? And why does it seem that Ben Fawley so frequently falls afoul of women who despite being at the student level income-wise themselves are able to either hire or manipulate many other big strong guys into harassing and assaulting poor Ben Fawley?
How convenient is it that he happens to be missing a camera, a tripod, $20, but not his wallet or bank card? How convenient is it that just before Taylor Behl is reported missing, Ben Fawley comes up with an excuse for being slightly beat up? About as beat-up as a 5’8″, slender guy who might have struggled physically with a healthy, 5’6″ teenage girl might be?
Ben Fawley, for the little contact I had with the man before he dropped out of TheatreVCU, was an incredibly screwed up person. He did brag about his car theft history, and the time he did for that and insurance fraud related to the car theft. He would take every opportunity to tell you about the guys who have “jumped” him and how badly he kicked their asses. And conveniently, every one of these attacks he talked about he said was because of some girl he broke up with. So even if he’s not convicted of abducting Taylor, I have a feeling he knows more than he’s telling anyone.
Ben Fawley obviously did it. The police knew this fact a long, long time ago, arresting him only after he died his hair and they believed he was about to flee.
Unless there’s forensic evidence found on Taylor’s body, the case will be primarily circumstantial, including his fingerprints found on the Ohio license plate. (Let’s see him explain that one).
It’s a shame that his twisted pics were taken off the net so that everyone could see what a pathetic little pussyboy he really is.
His case study should lend support to what profilers have been saying for years about the correlation between pyromania, animal torture, and bed wetting to serial killers.
I’m sure his track record shows all three in his history.
He’ll get the death penalty, of that there’s no doubt.
