From Missing to Murder: 24 Year Old Mother Stacey Marie Barker Charged with Murder of 18 Month Old Emma Barker

The story began as a missing persons case as tot mom Stacey Marie Barker reported that her 18 month old child, Emma Barker, missing as the result of a kidnapping. However, upon subsequent interviews with the tot mom, it became obvious to investigators that her story was full of holes and a lie. 24 year old Stacey Marie Barker is now charged with the murder of her daughter as she was charged with one count each of murder, assault on a child causing death, and child abuse.

A Southern California mother has been charged with murdering the 18-month-old daughter she initially reported missing last month.

Prosecutors in Los Angeles County said Monday that 24-year-old Stacey Marie Barker of Quartz Hill was charged with one count each of murder, assault on a child causing death, and child abuse

Detectives arrested Barker last Thursday because of “indications she might flee or disappear,” Nelson said. She was being held on $1 million bail.

Barker is scheduled to be arraigned May 11.

Mother charged in killing of 18-month-old daughter

An Antelope Valley mother who alleged that an attacker knocked her out and abducted her 18-month-old daughter is believed to have suffocated the girl hours earlier and dumped her body in Sylmar, detectives said Monday.
