Prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against the mother of missing 3 year Casey_Anthony1old Caylee Anthony, Casey Anthony. 3 year old Caylee Anthony went missing on June 9, 2008 and all evidence from the case including human decomposition from the tot moms car points to the conclusion at Caylee is presumed dead.

Although no body has been found, Casey Anthony was indicted in October on first-degree murder and other charges. Casey Anthony, if convicted, will instead face life in prison. The mountain of evidence against Casey Anthony, the lies to police, not referencing that Caylee was missing for a month, the computer searches, the presence of chloroform in the truck, decomposition in the car and the list goes on still exists against Casey Anthony. Not seeking the death penalty is hardly anything that Casey Anthony’s family can rest their hat on. Women are not usually sentenced to death even when the crime warrants it.

Prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against the Florida mom charged with killing her 3-year-old daughter, according to court documents.

The Orange County State Attorney’s Office announced in a news release Friday that “it is not in the best interest of the people of the State of Florida” to pursue the death penalty for Casey Anthony.

The 22-year-old mother pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder, child abuse, aggravated manslaughter and four counts of lying to investigators about the disappearance of her daughter. She faces life in prison if convicted.

Does not seeking the death penalty against Casey Anthony diminish the states case against the Casey? No! However, in typical delusional and continuing to live in a state of denial, Cindy and George Anthony some how think that only being sentenced to life in prison is a good thing. The fact of the matter is that women are rarely sentenced to death even when the crimes they commit are punishable by it.  Of the nearly 390 people on Florida’s death row, only one is a woman.

The girl’s grandparents, Cindy and George Anthony, insist Caylee is alive and released a statement Friday saying they’re still looking for the girl.

“Today’s announcement only supports our theory that our granddaughter is still with us and we will continue investigating all tips and leads that support our position despite what the authorities continue to say,” the statement read.

State won’t seek death penalty for Casey Anthony

The Orange-Osceola State Attorney’s Office will not seek the death penalty against Casey Anthony, the east Orange County woman suspected of killing her daughter, according to a court filing released Friday.

The filing states that “after due consideration of the facts and law applicable to this case, it is not in the best interest of the people of the State of Florida to pursue the Death Penalty as a potential sentence.”

No further explanation was given. Randy Means, executive director of the State Attorney’s Office, would not comment on his agency’s decision.
