Wynonna Judd Files for Divorce … Dan R. Roach Charged with 3 counts of Aggravated Sexual Battery against a Minor

Nashville Country music singer, Wynonna Judd, has filed for D-I-V-O-R-C-E from her estranged husband, Dan R. Roach. Wynonna Judd cited irreconcilable differences as a reason for divorce in the complaint filed in the Nashville suburb of Williamson County. IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES!!! That’s the understatement of 2007. How about the fact that Dan Roach was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a minor? A minor under the age of 13!

Wynonna Judd filed for divorce Tuesday from her estranged husband, less than a week after his arrest in Texas on sex charges involving a minor. Dan R. Roach, 49, was arrested Thursday in Abilene and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child younger than 13 in Nashville, police said. (AP)

Roach was held at the Taylor County Jail in Abilene, Texas, on a $750,000 bond. He is charged by a grand jury with three counts of aggravated sexual assault on a child, according to Don Aaron, public affairs officer for the Nashville police department. Roach had been Wynonna’s bodyguard for 10 years before the couple became engaged in August 2001. They married on November 22, 2003, in Tennessee.

The indictment is the result of an investigation by the (local police department’s) sex crimes unit that began in late February of this year,” Aaron said. Roach will be returned to Nashville in the next few days, he said.

The sexual battery charges against Roach were defined as inappropriate fondling and touching but not penetration, Aaron said. No other information was disclosed. (Reuters)
