Pelosi tells Democrats to Sacrifice Their Jobs, Vote for Obamacare and Against the Will of the People

Democrats are about to commit political suicide and ram health care through against the will of the people. Why do they refuse to listen to the people they work for?

Vote for Obamacare my pretties, or I’ll take your little dog too …

Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claims she will get the votes necessary to pass Obamacare, yet she also stated on the Sunday Talks Shows that Democrats should walk the plank and sacrifice their political careers for the all high and mighty Barack Hussein Obama and Obamacare. As it is presently, the 2010 midterm elections look to be utter carnage for Democrats, according to our accounts Dems look to lose 9 seats in the Senate. Passage of Obamacare will cause Donkeys to lose the House as well.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged her colleagues to back a major overhaul of U.S. health care even if it threatens their political careers, a call to arms that underscores the issue’s massive role in this election year.

Lawmakers sometimes must enact policies that, even if unpopular at the moment, will help the public, Pelosi said in an interview being broadcast Sunday the ABC News program “This Week.” “We’re not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress,” she said. “We’re here to do the job for the American people.”

No San Fran Nan, you are not ere just in Washington, DC  to self-perpetuate your service in Congress,” you are there to do the work and will of the American people. You would not have to fear losing your political careers if you were actually doing that.

The question that should have been asked is, Speaker Pelosi why would you feel that Democrats would be at risk of losing their jobs if they vote for Obamacare? Do you think you would be doing so against the will and the wishes of the American people? 61% of Americans want Congress scrap the current health care legislation and start over from scratch.  If so, why are you not listening to the very people who you claim to represent?

The American people oppose this Obamacare bill by a 56% to 41%. Last time I checked Mr. President that is a greater mandate than your election.

As stated by Another Black Conservative, it is obvious that Pelosi does not have the necessary votes in order to pass this unpopular health care bill otherwise should would never have made such a statement forcing fellow Democrats to sacrifice their political careers.

The fiasco for Democrats in the HOUSE is just because they vote yes for this bill and in essence sign their walking papers from DC, there is no guarantee that it will pass the Senate in reconciliation. Senator Vent Conrad (D-ND) stated that the reconciliation process cannot work for Obamacare.

No wonder the Times was so pessimistic about reconciliation.  Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND), who runs the committee that would have to run a reconciliation push, says that the budgetary process can’t be used for ObamaCare.  It would only address the actual budgetary issues, which leaves a lot off the table.

Thus, you would have House Dems putting their necks on the line and passing a bill that would never pass the Senate. All that would result would be their being voted out of office.

What a pickle Obama, Pelosi and Reid have put Democrats in, all so that Obama can get his health care bill passed. Democrats, under Obama’s leadership or lack thereof, have as the Astute Blogger states have painted them self in a corner.  They are damned if they don’t and even more damned if they do. This terrible piece of legislation is hated by everyone, Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike.

Why would any politician in their right mind reject the will of the American people and follow a President over the cliff who has an approval rating in the mid 40′s and who only 40% of nationwide voters say is doing a good or excellent job?
