Kathleen Savio, 3rd Wife of Drew Peterson, Death Ruled a Homicide … Stacy Peterson Still Missing

Posted in: Bizarre,Crime,Deceased,Missing Persons,Murder

Its official … the death of Kathleen Savio was a drowning by homicide. Its pretty amazing what one can find and determine when one cares to find the truth as to how someone had died.

Kathleen Savio’s death was originally ruled an accidental death. However, that ruling has now been reversed and her death has been ruled a homicide. Drew Peterson now finds himself the ex-husband of a dead wife who’s death has been ruled a homicide and a present spouse of a missing wife, Stacy Peterson. One wonders how Drew Peterson, the person of interest in the disappearance of his present wife Stacy Peterson, feels about this new revelation. The police investigating the death of Kathleen Savio have a bit of explaining to do as well.

State’s Attorney James Glasgow has said evidence suggests that someone killed Savio and tried to make it look like an accident. Peterson is a suspect in his fourth wife’s disappearance. (AP Photo)

Kathleen Savio’s death had come into question when Stacy Peterson went missing. 23 year old Stacy Peterson has been missing since October 28, 2007. Did she know too much?

Death of Ex-Cop’s 3rd Wife Was Homicide

JOLIET, Ill. (AP) — The death of a former suburban Chicago police officer’s third wife has been ruled a homicide after a second autopsy showed she drowned, a prosecutor said Thursday.

The death of Kathleen Savio four years ago was initially ruled an accident. She was found dead in her bathtub shortly before her divorce with Drew Peterson was finalized.

Savio’s body was exhumed late last year after he was named a person of interest in the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy. He has said Stacy Peterson ran off with another man, but her relatives deny any affair and say she was considering divorce.

“We have been investigating this as a murder since reopening the case in November of last year,” Will County State’s Attorney James Glasgow said. “We now have a scientific basis to formally and publicly classify it as such.”

Suspicions surrounding the disappearance of Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, prompted authorities to exhume the body of Kathleen Savio late last year.

Savio was found drowned in a bathtub in 2004, but her death was originally ruled an accident.

Certified forensic pathologist Larry Blum conducted the autopsy on Savio after Glasgow said additional information turned up during the investigation into Stacy Peterson’s vanishing that raised questions about the death of Savio.

The new autopsy results have left Stacy Peterson’s loved ones with “an eerie feeling of dread,” said Pam Bosco, a spokeswoman for her family.

“We realize that Kathleen and Stacy had one common denominator, and that’s Drew Peterson,” she told reporters Thursday evening in Bollingbrook, Illinois.
