26 year old Melinda Denny, who was traveling with her boyfriend from from Mobile, Alabama to Texas is missing. Her boyfriend, Johnathon Nall, had threatened to commit suicide and was in a standoff with police at a gas station in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana on Saturday. Nall was taken into protective custody and then sent to a local hospital for evaluation. However, Melinda Denny was no where to be found. . Denny was not found later when deputies located Nall’s 1999 red Jeep Grand Cherokee, which the couple was traveling in, in a subdivision near the gas station.

Police in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana, are searching for a missing Alabama woman whose boyfriend threatened suicide and engaged in a standoff with authorities Saturday, CBS affiliate WWLTV reports.

The woman, 26-year-old Melinda Denny, had been traveling with her boyfriend, Johnathon Nall, from Mobile, Ala. to Texas, reports the station.  Just before noon Saturday, authorities responded to a report of a man with a gun at a gas station.

Authorities engaged in a standoff with Nall, who threatened to kill himself, reports the station. He reportedly did not threaten anyone else with the gun. He was then taken into protective custody after deputies shot him with a less-than-lethal bean bag round, reports the station.

St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office looking for missing Alabama woman.

Much earlier, Saturday morning, around 1:30 a.m., the Sheriff’s office received a call from Nall’s mother in Alabama who requested that deputies check on the whereabouts of Nall and Denny, as they were said to be in a parking lot on Highway 21 and needed money for gas.

Responding deputies made contact with the two and both subjects reported they were okay.

A weapon was found in the vehicle, but without ammunition, and a routine background check revealed no criminal history on either, so deputies released the two to continue their trip.

No additional contact was made with the pair until Nall was seen Saturday morning at the gas station.

Anyone who might have seen Nall’s Jeep Saturday along the I-12 area, or anyone who might have information about Denny’s whereabouts should call 9-1-1.

UPDATE I: Body of missing Alabama mother found five days after boyfriend arrested in armed standoff.

The body of a missing Alabama mother has been found in Louisiana five days after her boyfriend was arrested following an armed standoff with deputies.

The discovery of 26-year-old Melinda Denny’s body in St. Tammany on Thursday morning comes after shocking video surfaced appearing to show her boyfriend yelling hysterically while holding a gun to his head.

UPDATE II: Missing Alabama woman died of multiple stab wounds.

After a week of searching, St. Tammany deputies discovered the body of a missing 27-year-old woman from Alabama.

The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office says Melinda Denny died from multiple stab wounds. Denny was found along a fence line in an open field on Brewster Road in Madisonville.
