ESPN Apologizes for Brent Musburger’s Comments About Miss Alabama Katherine Webb During BCS Champ Broadcast … “You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman… Whoa!”

HOW ABSOLUTELY SILLY … So this is where a PC and all too often offended America has come to … we have to apologize for stating the obvious when a girl is beautiful, REALLY?
Ans the real winner of the 2012 BCS National Championship Game … Alabama Katherine Webb.
OK, Brent might have come close to crossing county lines, but he just barely avoided entering creepsville. America, some times we just have to laugh as I hardly believe long time sports announcer icon Brent Musberger meant anything malicious by his comments regarding Webb’s beauty. But that did not stop the overly sensitive and often offended libs at ESPN. ESPN has apologized for veteran sports announcer Brent Musberger’s comments during the BCS Championship game between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. During the broadcast that needed some thing to keep people’s interest as the game was out of hand in the first 5 minutes, Musberger made comments regarding Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron’s rather beautiful girlfriend Katherine Webb. The Bama beauty is a 2011 Auburn graduate and Miss Alabama. Needless to say the video went viral.
“You quarterbacks, you get all the good looking women. What a beautiful woman… Whoa!”
However, on Tuesday, ESPN responded to the commentary with an apology:
“We always try to capture interesting storylines and the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama and the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far and Brent understands that.”
Apologize? The 73 year old Musberger made Miss Webb an over night sensation and as Katherine Webb gains 175000 Twitter followers in one night. I think it goes to show just how bad this BCS National Championship game really was. No one is talking about Alabama’s dominate victory 42-14. Nor do they care that Notre Dame decided not to show up and was overwhelmingly over matched. All of the talk is about Katherine Webb. I hardly think that an apology is in order if the one who was being talked about did not mind the comments. Lighten up ESPN.
“It’s been actually kind of fun,” the 23-year-old model and Miss Alabama USA 2012 told The Associated Press.
“I just couldn’t believe it,” said Webb, who, according to her pageant biography, graduated with a business degree from Alabama rival Auburn University in 2011. “I was just in complete surprise.”
Dee Dee Bonner, McCarron’s mother, said the two laughed as Webb’s Twitter count grew.
“We were like, `Oh my God,”‘ Bonner said. “She said, `All I want to do is date your son.’ We’ve been laughing about it. It’s quite shocking.”

Note to ESPN … Katherine Webb is a beautiful young woman and a college grad … no apologies needed!
UPDATE I: Katherine Webb even came out and said that Musburger’s comments didn’t bother her.
“It was kind of nice,” she said. “I didn’t look at it as creepy at all. For a woman to be called beautiful, I don’t see how that’s an issue.”
Newsflash to ESPN … Miss Alabama Katherine Webb is beautiful and I am sure that many boys have taken Brent’s advice and put down their video games and started throwing the pigskin in the back yard. Sorry, but I could see another famed sports announcer Keith Jackson saying … “Whoa Nellie!!!”
If ESPN wants an apology, maybe they should ask one from the Golden Domer’s of Notre Dame for not bothering to show up for the BCS National Championship game and I am an ND fan.
EXIT QUESTION … Who was more offended, those that heard Musberger’s comments regarding Katherine Webb or Notre Dame’s play on the field and the obvios lack of coaching, preparation and a game plan for the BCS Championship?
UPDATE II: Yea, this was just so terrible what Brent Musberger did, that’s why Donald Tmp has now asked the Alabama beauty to be a judge for his Miss USA contest.
