Wisconsin US Senate Election: Obama Travels to Wisconsin and Republican Ron Johnson Increases Lead over Democrat Russ Feingold 54% to 42%

WOW, what is going on in Wisconsin and in the Democrat party?

Maybe Democrat incumbent US Senator Russ Feingold should have taken his initial advice and stayed far away from Obama when President Barack Obama visited Wisconsin this past week. It would appear that the ”toxic” President once again spread his reverse Midas touch on Russ Feingold. With such toxicity and unfavorable job approval numbers, it makes one scratch their head as to how Obama could be ahead of Hillary Clinton 52% to 37% in a hypothetical 2012 Democrat nomination for President. However, the fact that such conversations are being discussed should crate concern for Democrats and Obama. A disasterous 2010 midterm and more bad economic numbers could create even worse job approval numbers for Obama. Some say Hillary will hold out until 2016.

With Vice President Biden too old to run for president after Obama, that leaves Clinton the most prominent administration official available in 2016. Assuming she continues to serve Obama without much controversy, she can help diminish her problems with his loyal supporters. She can leave the administration at some point to write a book and plan out a 2016 run.

However, back to the present. No sooner did Obama visit Wisconsin and act in a manner that was less than Presidential, the latest Rasmussen poll shows Republican challenger Ron Johnson takes a 12% lead over Democrat incumbent Russ Feingold in the race for the US Senate. How out of touch are Democrats with the voters? Speaker Pelosi stated that they wanted to seean aggressive Obama on the campaign trail, yet that hardly plays to independents. It made Obama look like a partisan and one of the main reason why the very independents who voted him into office, have now abaondoned him.

Republican Ron Johnson now leads incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold by 12 points in Wisconsin’s race for the U.S. Senate.

The latest Rasmussen Reports statewide telephone survey of Likely Voters shows Johnson picking up 54% support, while Feingold, who is running for his fourth term in the Senate, gets 42% of the vote with leaners included. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and two percent (2%) more are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Maybe this is the reason why Republican Ron Johnson now leads Feingold 54% to 42%, Feingold actually ran a political ad touting Obamacare.  The ad has individuals stating to Johnson,”Hands off our healthcare.” Really? Seeing that it is the majority, including independents who see Democrats as interfering with “We the Peoples” health care … no wonder Feingold is behind in the polls.

Feingold and his staff must be kicking themself for showing up to the Obama rally. The only Democrats for the most part that are doing well in the polls are ones that are pretending they are not Democrat and have never heard of Obama, Pelosi or Reid.

Rasmussen has moved the Wisconsin US Senate race to leans Republican.
