EXECUTIVE ORDER TRAVEL BAN 2.0

On Monday, President Donald Trump signed a new executive order barring people from six majority-Muslim nations and refugees from entering the US temporarily. This was in response to his first executive order on a travel ban was struck down by the liberal 9th circuit court. In the new order, President Trump outlined his motivations for signing the first order, declaring it was intended to “improve the screening and vetting protocols and procedures associated with the visa-issuance process and the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).” Now he has refined it and even removed Iraq from the list. However, it is most certain that liberals will look to block anything that Trump attempts to do to keep America safe. They will claim this is a Muslim ban, even though there are 49-51 countries that are considered Muslim and only 6 on this list with a temporary ban.

President Donald Trump signed a new executive order Monday barring people from six majority-Muslim nations and refugees from entering the US temporarily, after courts struck down his first ban.

This time, the president made sure to include in the text of the order that this temporary ban was not about religion, as critics of the action have accused by calling it a “Muslim ban.” One federal judge agreed with their characterization, striking down the order in Virginia specifically because it violated people’s religious freedoms.

In the new order, Trump outlined the president’s motivations for signing the first order, declaring it was intended to “improve the screening and vetting protocols and procedures associated with the visa-issuance process and the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).”

“That order was not motivated by animus toward any religion, but was instead intended to protect the ability of religious minorities — whoever they are and wherever they reside — to avail themselves of the USRAP in light of their particular challenges and circumstances,” the text of the new ban reads.

Executive Order Protecting The Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States:

EXECUTIVE ORDER

PROTECTING THE NATION FROM FOREIGN TERRORIST ENTRY INTO THE UNITED STATES

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), 8 U.S.C. 1101 et seq., and section 301 of title 3, United States Code, and to protect the Nation from terrorist activities by foreign nationals admitted to the United States, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1.  Policy and Purpose.  (a)  It is the policy of the United States to protect its citizens from terrorist attacks, including those committed by foreign nationals.  The screening and vetting protocols and procedures associated with the visa-issuance process and the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) play a crucial role in detecting foreign nationals who may commit, aid, or support acts of terrorism and in preventing those individuals from entering the United States.  It is therefore the policy of the United States to improve the screening and vetting protocols and procedures associated with the visa-issuance process and the USRAP.

(b)  On January 27, 2017, to implement this policy, I issued Executive Order 13769 (Protecting the Nation from Foreign Terrorist Entry into the United States). (read full executive order HERE)
