The mystery to what happened to missing Eridania Rodriguez has come to sad end.
The body of 46 year old Eridania Rodriguez was found Saturday morning in the same location where she went missing four days ago in the Manhattan high-rise where she worked. Her body was found stuffed in an air conditioning duct in a utility room on the 12th floor of the building.
Police spokesman Paul Browne said the corpse was found just before 9 a.m., stuffed in an air conditioning duct in a utility room on the 12th floor of the tower where Eridania Rodriguez vanished Tuesday.
Police had searched the office building from top to bottom every day since Rodriguez disappeared, but hadn’t turned up anything. Investigators had been sure, though, that she had not walked out alive.
Police had initially suspected foul play. We had suspected when Eridania Rodriguez went missing on July 7, 2009 and the fact that security cameras did not show the cleaning woman leave the building that most likely she would be found somewhere inside and had never left the building.
Eridania Rodriguez punched in for work at 2 Rector Street around 5 p.m. and was last seen on security cameras around 7 p.m. However, the building’s cameras never recorded her leaving the high-rise. She simply vanished. One would suspect that she may still be somewhere in the building
The floor where Eridania Rodriguez’s body was found was under construction. According to reports, a bad smell and missing ceiling tiles made search teams focus on the area. Shortly after that police made the grisly discovery. Hopefully, now that a body has been found there will be evidence or DNA that will determine what happened to Eridania Rodriguez and who might have killed her? One would suspect that they would be questioning others that were working at the Manhattan building at the time of there murder.
