McCain/Palin 2008 … The Polling Trends do not Lie … Polling Surge for McCain & Palin

Think Democrats and the Obama camp are not in panic mode as they watch the polls? Think again as Team McCain has gained the momentum and the enthusiasm of the American public. No one is talking about Obama or his VP who? They buzz is all about Sarah Palin and John McCain.

Make no mistake about it, the Republican ticket of John McCain and Sarah Palin are surging and have the momentum. Barack Obama’s pre-convention poll leads are gone as some polls show a statistical tie as others show a slight McCain lead. However, the fact of the matter is that McCain/Palin are trending upward among many voters. Following the “bounce” from the convention … McCain/Palin have the advantage.

… according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. The presidential contest is also about even among those who are the most likely to vote in November: 49 percent for McCain, 47 percent for Obama.

Many of the shifts toward McCain stem from gains among white women, voters his team hoped to sway with the pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his vice presidential candidate. White women shifted from an eight-point pre-convention edge for Obama to a 12-point McCain advantage now.

According to a CBS News poll McCain now leads Obama 46% to 44%. However, as Hot Air points out here is a real eye opener as in an ABC poll, 20-point shift towards McCain among white women since last month. The Gallup Daily tracking poll shows McCain with a 5 point lead over Barack Obama 49% to 44%. The USA Today/Gallup gave McCain a 4-point edge among registered voters and a 10-point lead among likely voters
