VIA The Drudge Report:

Paul Walker2

OMG … TMZ is reporting that Paul Walker, the actor best known for his role as Brian O’Conner in “The Fast and the Furious” movies has died this afternoon in a single car crash. Say it isn’t so. Walker was just 40 years old. Hmm, but I do not see this updated on  IMDb. The actor born on  on September 12, 1973, in Glendale California is also known for his other roles in my favorites, as Lance Harbor in ‘Varsity Blues’, Lewis Thomas in ‘Joy Ride’ and ‘Into the Blue’ with Jessica Alba. Damn, that is just too bad. Even though the movies were never meant for my demographic, I was a huge Fast and Furious fan.

TMZ:

Paul Walker — best known for his role in “The Fast and the Furious” movies – died Saturday afternoon after a single-car accident and explosion in Southern California … TMZ has learned.

The accident happened in Santa Clarita — north of Los Angeles — and according to multiple sources connected to Paul … the actor was in a Porsche when the driver somehow lost control and slammed into a post or a tree … and then the car burst into flames.

Several of our sources — some who are still at the scene of the accident — tell us Paul and another person in the car were killed.

UPDATE I: The actor has been taking people on test drives of the car at a car show to raise money for victims of the typhoon in the Philippines.

Only the Good do die young. Paul Walker was reported to have been taking people on test spins in his Porsche to raise money for the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines when the accident occurred. Walker was a passenger in a friend’s car and both were attending a charity event for his organization, Reach Out Worldwide.

UPDATE II: Trying to figure out why I do not see any news agencies reporting this. Please tell me this is not a hoax.

UPDATE III: From The Santa Clara Valley Signal … UPDATE: Actor Paul Walker believed killed in Valencia car crash.

Two people were killed Saturday afternoon when a Porsche sports car crashed and burst into flames in Valencia, and initial reports indicated the passenger was actor Paul Walker.

The single-car crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. on Hercules Street near Constellation Road in the Rye Canyon Business Park, fire officials said.

The red Porsche was reduced to unrecognizable twisted metal in the single-car crash.

Sheriff’s Department officials did not confirm that the actor was killed in the crash, saying the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office would determine the victims’ identities and causes of death. The coroner’s office could not be reached for comment late Saturday.

Spectators gathered at the scene, and several said the passenger was the star of “The Fast and the Furious” series of films. One witness at the scene said he tried to put the fire out and recognized Walker inside the vehicle.

“Him and his buddy, his brother in arms at heart just decided to joyride, take a spin. Something we all do. We’re all car enthusiasts. … We’re all here driving, enjoying each other, and God must’ve needed help,” said Antonio Holmes, who said he was a friend of Walker.

UPDATE IV: So much for those who were questioning the validity of the story … all MSM is reporting it now … CNN, WAPO, ABC News, NBC News,

UPDATE V: BBC has pictures of the car wreck … OMG, just terrible!!!

UPDATE VI: VIDEO remembrance of Paul Walker … the terrible sick irony that he would die in a car crash as a passenger when he was made famous with mad driving skills in the Fast & Furious movies. Just terrible. Just not right.
