Man Stabbed 4 People at a Catholic Church in Albuquerque, NM with Knife at Sunday Mass Identified as Lawrence Capener

Police are stating that a man in his 20′s stabbed four people at a Catholic church in Albuquerque, NM with a knife as a Sunday mass was nearing its end. The man is being identified as 24 year old Lawrence Capener. According to accounts, Capener jumped over several pews at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church this Sunday and walked up to the choir area where he began his attack. As per KOAT, a witnesses stated that Capener charged the choir just after communion yelling, “fake preacher!” and began stabbing choir members The injuries to the four parishioners were not life-threatening and all were being treated at hospitals. Capener was tackled by an off duty police officer and others and held until police arrived. Lawrence Capener was arrested and is expected to face felony charges for his actions.
Albuquerque police have identified the 24-year-old man who is accused of stabbing four people at a Catholic church as a Sunday service was nearing its end.
Police spokesman Robert Gibbs says Lawrence Capener is now being interviewed by police and is expected to face felony charges.
It’s not yet known whether Capener has an attorney.

I guess Barack Obama and Democrats will be calling for back ground checks and a three day waiting period on the sale of knives. After all, knives cause more murders in the US than rifles and shot guns.
