Body found in Riverside County, CA Might be Missing 22 Year Old Missing Brittany Dawn Killgore (Update: Body ID’d)

22 year old Brittany Dawn Killgore has been missing since Friday, April 13, 2012; however, the case may have come to a sad ending. According to reports, a body has been found in Riverside County, CA that is believed to be that of missing  Brittany Dawn Killgore. A suspect in the case, Jessica Lynn Lopez, has been arrested after an apparent suicide attempt. Also, Marine Staff Sgt. Louis Ray Perez, who was arrested Sunday on a weapons charge, remains under investigation in the disappearance. Perez is currently being held on $500,000 bail.

Authorities also have arrested a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of homicide in connection with the disappearance of 22-year-old Brittany Dawn Killgore, Sheriff’s Capt. Duncan Fraser said.

The suspect, Jessica Lynn Lopez, was found Tuesday morning in a San Diego motel after an apparent suicide attempt, and was taken to the University of California, San Diego Medical Center, Fraser said. Information leading to the discovery of the body was developed after Lopez was arrested, Fraser said.

UPDATE I: The  body found near Lake Skinner in Riverside County has been identified as that of 22 year old Brittany Dawn Killgore. Rest in Peace.

Brittany Dawn Killgore was married to a Camp Pendleton Marine deployed to Afghanistan but had filed for divorce. A woman has been arrested in the case, and another Marine is a person of interest.

Meanwhile, Marine Staff Sgt. Louis Ray Perez, 45, considered a person of interest in the case, pleaded not guilty Wednesday in San Diego County Superior Court in Vista to charges of receiving stolen property and possession of a stolen assault rifle. Bail was set at $500,000.
