GOP Presidential Hopefuls Mike Huckabee & Mitt Romney Lead Barack Obama in Hypothetical Poll for 2012 Presidential Election

The dust and carnage has yet to settle from the historic 60+ pick up by the GOP in the House, 10+ Governorships, 6 pick ups in the Senate and 680 state legislators … the focus now turns to 2012 Presidential election.

According to a new CNN/Opinion poll, Mike Huckabee leads Barack Obama 52% to 44%, while Mitt Romney has a 50% to 45% advantage over the once “Obamamessiah. Barck Obama looks to be a“One Term One-der”.  Presently Obama has a Presidential Daily Tracking poll of -16 with Rasmussen and 45% approval – 50% disapproval rating with Real Clear Politics.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Thursday also indicates that at the unofficial start of the race for the Republican presidential nomination, the field of possible contenders appears wide open with no front-runner.

According to the poll, 21 percent of Republicans say they would most likely support former Arkansas Gov. and 2008 GOP White House candidate Mike Huckabee for their party’s 2012 presidential nomination, with 20 percent saying they’d back former Massachusetts Gov. and 2008 Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, 14 percent supporting Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, and 12 percent backing former House Speaker Newt Gingrich of Georgia.

So much fore the brain surgeons at MSNBC who stated in their disgraceful coverage election eve that no Republican could beat Barack Hussein Obama in 2012. No one, eh? There is much speculation that Sarah Palin will run; however, it appears that it may be a huge field in the GOP primary is possible candidates like Mike Pence, Mitch Daniels, Haley Barbour, Newt Gingrich and many, many more.

In a hypothetical 2012 matchup, Huckabee leads Obama 52 – 44 percent, while Romney has a 50-45 point advantage, which is within the poll’s sampling error. Obama hold a 49-47 percent margin over Gingrich.

However, the real question for 2012 is whether Obama will be the Democrat Presidental candidate. The independents have already abandoned him. Is it possible that his LEFT-wing base will do the same if Obama moves away from the promises he made to the LEFT? What if Obama extends the Bush tax cuts for all, included to so-called rich. Is it possible that he will bechallenged in the Democrat promaries from the LEFT by the likes of Howard Dean or from the RIGHT by Hillary Clinton?

Dean is different. He has run for president before — albeit briefly — which is not essential but can be very helpful. He is still a hero to many young people for his pioneering use of the Internet as a political tool. Most important, he appeals to liberals for his dramatic challenge to Democrats to stop being wimps and rolling over for George W. Bush. In 2003, Dean said he represented “the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party,” a call that might sound appealing now to liberals who fear Obama will compromise even further with Republicans. And Dean, a doctor, was a champion of the health care public option, which Obama abandoned.
