Delusional: Nancy Pelosi States Democrats will Retain the US House of Representatives in 2010 Midterm Elections

Hmm, wanna bet.

Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has stated that Democrats will hold on to control of the majority in the US House of Representatives following the 2010 midterm elections. Well, what else would one expect her to say, we will lose and I will be out of a job as House speaker? San Fran Nan stated that Democrats would take the House in 2010 and “your little dog too”.

When asked whether she feared the political climate has changed enough that she may lose her post as Speaker of the House, Pelosi admitted the game has changed since the 2008 election, but predicted that Democrats will hold onto their majority through November’s midterm elections.

“First of all this has nothing to do with me. It’s about our fight for the American people. I feel pretty confident about the caliber of our candidates. Our members are battle-tested, they’ve won these districts before,” Pelosi said. “The American people have to choose between a candidate who’s there to represent the table in the board room or the kitchen table in the American people’s homes. Whose interests are we here to protect? We believe that the people’s interest should prevail and that’s our case.”

Pelosi is obviously pounding the Democrat drum of optimism or is it mere delusion?  Why would Nancy Pelosi bother to look at the polls where the Congressional Generic polls have Democrats behind Republicans by 5% in Gallup , 12% in Rasmussen, 12% in ABC/Washington Post poll, and 7% in the CNN poll. This does not even take into account the tremendous advantage that Republicans have in enthusiasm heading into the 2010 elections.

Pelosi stated the following,  ”Whose interests are we here to protect? We believe that the people’s interest should prevail and that’s our case.” Actually Madame Speaker, the American people think you are there to protect your own interests and agenda. That is why in a RCP average polling of Congressional approval under Democrat leadership, you have a 23% approval rating. Do you really think the people believe you are acting in their best interest when you have a -49% approval rating (23% approval – 72% disapprove).

America hates Obamacare and wants it repealed. But Pelosi and Democrats know better than the American voters. It is this attitude from Democrats that will find them in the minority following the 2010 midterm elections.

Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats went against the will of the American people in voting for Cap & Trade, Obama stimulus and Obamacare. Now they think the people will forget? In acting in the best interest of ”We the People”, Democrats are not even running on the very laws that they crammed down the throats of the American people. Live it up while you can Nancy and embrace that gavel as it will soon be taken from your hands permanently.
