Stuck on Stupid … Nancy Pelosi Says Unemployment Benefits Stimulate Economy and Create Jobs

Pelosi actually made these comments with a straight face

Could some one please tell me what planet Nancy Pelosi and these liberal Democrats are from and who is responsible for voting these idiots. yes, complete fools into office?

“It injects demand into the economy,” Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. “It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”

Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelsoi provided us with this economic gem yesterday while whining about the fact that the jobless benefits package was stalled in the Senate. Pelosi actually said that unemployment  benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program and that the money stimulated the economy. WHAT???!!!???

Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday.

Talking to reporters, the House speaker was defending a jobless benefits extension against those who say it gives recipients little incentive to work. By her reasoning, those checks are helping give somebody a job.

“It injects demand into the economy,” Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. “It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.”

Let’s say for one second we agree with Pelosi that unemployment benefits are one of the biggest stimuluses or stimuli to our economy, which we do not agree with. If Pelosi, Reid and the rest of her ilk believe that “UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS” stimulate the economy, then why are they opposed to paying for the bill with Obama’s $787-878 billion stimulus package? Why are they hellbent of adding it to the federal deficit when they claim it is a stimulus function? Hmm? Talk about playing politics with unisurance benefits.

With this kind of idiotic logic, coupled with Obama’s Marxist agenda of “Big Government” take over, no wonder the United States is gaining no jobs in the private sector, unemployment rates are hovering near 10% nationwide and jobless claims are still on the rise. As Sister Toldjah says, you just can’t make this stuff up.

Let’s understand this, unemployment benefits according  to the economic scholar Pelosi creates jobs. How? If anything, unemployment benefits, especially ones that are extended forever are a deterrent to people looking for a job. Unemployment benefits is a safety net for those who have lost a job, nothing more. Unless you are the one’s who are defrauding the system. At Michelle Malkin, they bring Pelosi’s illogical logic to it’s ultimate conclusion that the economy won’t be fully functional until nobody is working..

I think I’m catching on to Pelosi’s line of reasoning though (which, frankly, frightens me): If unemployment is the best way to create jobs, then the economy won’t be fully functioning until nobody’s working, and that’s another goal Obama, Pelosi, Reid & company can now boast about helping us get closer to.

How can taking monies away from those who produce to pay those who don’t create jobs? This is what Pelosi is claiming as well as the unemployment checks stimulate the economy. Welcome to the insane world of liberals and Obama in Wonderland. Those that are receiving unemployment, usually 70% of salary, are hardly going out and buying homes, cars and other luxury items. They are most likely cutting back, trying to pay the bare minimum of their bills and save something.

I would like to meet the economists who told Speaker Pelosi that Unemployment benefits are a job creator. Not just any job creator, but one that ”creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name.” This is the BS Democrats use in calling these types of bills, jobs bills. They create nothing, which can explain why the US jobs market is in the present situation.

Obama, Reid and Pelosi are either liars, idiots or all of the above. Maybe Weasel Zippers says it best when it comes to Pelosi, “Stupid or liar, this woman a national nightmare.” Please vote this fool out from her position of leadership in 2010.
