Didn’t Obama Say Obamacare Would not Cover Illegals? Liberals Seek Healthcare for Illegals

Who lied? I thought the reforms they were proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally?

It would appear that South Carolina Republican Representative was not too far off the mark after all. As Democrats see the poll numbers slipping with Obamacare and liberals find them self losing political ground on immigration as well, The Washington Times is reporting that House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health care bill should extend some access to illegal immigrants.

Fearful that they’re losing ground on immigration and health care, a group of House Democrats is pushing back and arguing that any health care bill should extend to all legal immigrants and allow illegal immigrants some access.

The Democrats, trying to stiffen their party’s spines on the contentious issue, say it’s unfair to bar illegal immigrants from paying their own way in a government-sponsored exchange. Legal immigrants, they say, regardless of how long they’ve been in the United States, should be able to get government-subsidized health care if they meet the other eligibility requirements.

Remember what Obama said? Following this comment, Joe Wilson shouted, “You lie!” But did he? From what liberals look to be pushing for illegals to have access to tax payer sponsored and paid for healthcare, it looks like Wilson was spot on.

“There are also those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants.  This, too, is false.  The reforms — the reforms I’m proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally”. 

Didn’t the liberals get Obama’s memo or listen during his speech during the joint session of Congress? Because they are proposing something quite different. Who owes who an apology?
