Obama Coat Tails? Think Obamacare is a Winning Strategy? PA Sen Arlen Specter Down 12 in Polls to Pat Toomey

Vote for Obamacare at your own risk …

Hey Democrat Senate and Congressman, think there are not political consequences to backing Swim-at-your-own-riskObamacare? Ask PA Senator Arlen Specter whether such consequences exist. This also applied to Republicans who think some compromise deal is the answer. Americans may want some form of health care reform, they do not want the entire system overturned, or government involvement.

My what a difference in a few months makes. Also, supporting a piece of legislation that “We the People” dispise. Arlen Specter finds himself behind in the polls to Republican challenger Pat Toomey by 12 points, 48% to 36%. How is it spossible that an incumbent Senator can only garner 36% support? Specter’s recent Town Hall fiasco should serve as a learning lesson to the rest of the politicians who wish to remain in office … “You work for US!!!”

Uncomfortable town hall meetings are just the tip of the iceberg for Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter. He now trails Republican Pat Toomey by double digits in his bid for reelection next year and is viewed unfavorably by a majority of the state’s voters.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Pennsylvania voters shows 48% would vote for Toomey if the election were held today. Just 36% would vote for Specter while four percent (4%) prefer a third option, and 12% are not sure.

For those that don’t think that part of Specter’s freefall in the polls is not widely attributed to his attachment to Obamacare, one only needs to look at the polling in PA for Obamacare. In the Keystone state, Obama care is supported by 42%, while 53% are against it.

But the intensity is clearly with those who are opposed to the plan. Just 21% of Keystone State voters Strongly Favor the plan while 41% are Strongly Opposed.

All this while national support of Obamacare slips to an alltime low. The more the President tries to sell Obamacare, the less support he gets.

Public support for the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats has fallen to a new low as just 42% of U.S. voters now favor the plan. That’s down five points from two weeks ago and down eight points from six weeks ago.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that opposition to the plan has increased to 53%, up nine points since late June.
