America Has No Confidence in Government to Spend Stimulus Money Wisely and Trust Their Own Economic Judgment More Than Congress

If so many Americans do not trust government with their tax dollars then why are they not more Government-wastevocal! At some point “We the People” are going to have to take our country back and make politicians accountable to us.

The polls are starting to indicate that Americans have no trust that the government knows what it is doing when it comes to the economy. They also don’t trust them to spend the money properly. In a recent Rasmussen poll, 76% of Americans think that the government will waste the $787 billion economic stimulus “pork” plan due to inadequate oversight. What, government waste tax payers dollars? This is a revelation how? It’s really easy to spend others people’s money.

Seventy-six percent (76%) of Americans say it is at least somewhat likely that a large amount of money in the $787-billion economic stimulus plan will be wasted due to inadequate government oversight.

Nearly half (46%) say it is very likely, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey.

Only 18% say it is not likely that taxpayer money will be wasted.

Three out of four Americans trust their own judgment more than that of Congress when it comes to economic issues facing the country. 74% trust their own judgment, 13% are dependent upon government and 12% are too busy watching coverage of the Michael Jackson death to care that their money is being thrown down a black hole.

Three-out-of-four Americans (74%) trust their own judgment more than that of the average member of Congress when it comes to economic issues facing the nation.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 13% trust the average Congress member’s judgment more, while 12% are not sure who knows best.
