Barack Obama’s 2012 Thanksgiving Message and Once Again Forgets to MakeReal Mention of God, Or Thank Him … You are No Lincoln

It’s an Obama world where it appears that thanking God on Thanksgiving is not an option or even a thought.

President Barack Obama released his Thanksgiving Day message Thursday and a once again he forgot to thank God. Interesting. Obama mentioned the right of freedom of religion and to worship as you please, but no reference to God, except “Because there but for the grace of God go I.” He went on to say that, “no dream is too big if they’re willing to work for it.” Work for it? What message has Obama ever sent that people should work hard for things? Instead he penalizes and punishes those who have worked hard and made something of themselves. Obama looks to tax the producers, the small business owner and redistribute their money to the moochers.

Today we give thanks for blessings that are all too rare in this world.  The ability to spend time with the ones we love; to say what we want; to worship as we please; to know that there are brave men and women defending our freedom around the globe; and to look our children in the eye and tell them that, here in America, no dream is too big if they’re willing to work for it.

We’re also grateful that this country has always been home to Americans who see these blessings not simply as gifts to enjoy, but as opportunities to give back.  Americans who believe we have a responsibility to look out for those less fortunate – to pull each other up and move forward together.

But did Obama really forget? Hardly, as noted by the Gateway Pundit, this is the fourth year in a row where Obama neglected to thank God during a Thanksgiving Day address. However, Obama had no problem while campaigning and BS’ing the American people to thank God and say God bless America. What I think I find most disturbing is Obama’s ends justify the means approach. Obama and his minions just ran one of the most heinous, divisive and vicious campaigns where they lied about their opponent and even accused him of murder.  Obama won reelection based on class warfare and dividing black from white, rich from poor, old from young, union from non-union and now President Obama. The most polarizing and divisive president ever now wants every one to come together as if he never ignited the fuse. This is the sign of a great politician who knows how to win an election at all cost and a lousy leader who just keeps individuals at each others throats. America has many things to be thankful for, Barack Obama is not one of them.

That’s especially important this year.  As a nation, we’ve just emerged from a campaign season that was passionate, noisy, and vital to our democracy.  But it also required us to make choices – and sometimes those choices led us to focus on what sets us apart instead of what ties us together; on what candidate we support instead of what country we belong to.

Thanksgiving is a chance to put it all in perspective – to remember that, despite our differences, we are, and always will be, Americans first and foremost.

There is a reason why Lincoln was a great president and Obama, not even close. Take a look at the Presidential proclamation from Lincoln in 1863 (VIDEO) and see if you cannot tell the difference. And if you cannot, you are hopeless. Check out what a great president said when division was wrought upon the United States rather than division from a president.

In the midst of a civil war of unequaled magnitude and severity, which has sometimes seemed to foreign states to invite and to provoke their aggression, peace has been preserved with all nations, order has been maintained, the laws have been respected and obeyed, and harmony has prevailed everywhere, except in the theater of military conflict, while that theater has been greatly contracted by the advancing armies and navies of the Union.   Needful diversions of wealth and of strength from the field of peaceful industry to the national defense have not arrested the plow, the shuttle, or the ship; the ax has enlarged the borders of our settlements, and the mines, as well of iron and coal as of the precious metals, have yielded even more abundantly than theretofore. Population has steadily increased notwithstanding the waste that has been made in the camp, the siege, and the battlefield, and the country, rejoicing in the consciousness of augmented strength and vigor, is permitted to expect continuance of years with large increase of freedom.   No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.   It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens.

UPDATE I: Obama calls for religious freedom as Christians and Catholics accuse him of a war on religion.
