‘Girls Gone Wild’ CEO Joe Francis Sentenced to Probation … Yea there’s some Tough Love

Posted in: Child Welfare,Crime,Internet

Joe Francis, 33, the CEO of the infamous “Girls Gone Wild” videos was sentenced to two Girls_gone_wildyears probation and 200 hours of community service for violating federal laws designed to prevent the sexual exploitation of minors.

Joe Francis, 33, also was ordered to pay a $500,000 fine as part of a plea deal he made with the U.S. Department of Justice in September, when he plead guilty to failing to document the ages of young women engaging in sexually explicit acts in the tapes.

Under the deal, Francis acknowledged he included footage of two drunken, underage girls shot in Florida in the videos.

That will show him and those in the industry not to sexually exploit minors. NOT! Previously, Francis’ company Mantra Films was ordered to pay a $1.6 million fine. Does the federal government wish to make money off the exploitation of children or stop those that pedal this nonsense? Jail time might have been appropriate and served as a greater deterrent. That would have set an example. Mantra Film, Inc does as much as $40 million a year in sales. This is a slap on the wrist.

Joe Francis: ‘Baby, give me a kiss’

Tonight we had spent almost five hours in a sweaty nightclub, crowded with 2,500 very young and very drunk people. Clubs like this are fertile fields for Francis. He’s made a fortune selling videos of women who agree to flash their breasts and French-kiss their friends for the cameras. In exchange, a girl who goes wild will receive a T-shirt, a pair of panties, maybe a trucker hat. It had been a typical night for him. He’d scoured the club, recruiting young and, for the most part, intoxicated women. Because filming wasn’t allowed inside, he and his newly discovered entourage had stepped outside, heading for the confines of a “Girls Gone Wild” tour bus parked across the street.
