According to some preliminary reports, the Pakistani Taliban have claimed responsibility for the NYC Times Square bombing attempt. A top Pakistani Taliban commander, Qari Hussain Mehsud, took credit for yesterday’s failed car bomb attack in New York City.

The VIDEO was originally in YouTube; however, has been since taken down.

Fox 5 reported Sunday that the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the bomb plot.

According to Fox News, in a 1 minute video allegedly released by the Pakistani Taliban, the group says the attack is revenge for the death of its leader Baitullah Mehsud and the recent killings of the top leaders of al-Qaida in Iraq.

Images of the slain militants are shown as an unidentified voice recites the message. English subtitles are at the bottom of the screen.

According to the AP, an unidentified speaker on the tape also says the attack comes in response to American “interference and terrorism in Muslim Countries, especially in Pakistan.”

KUDOS to Hugh Hewitt, “LUCK IS NOT A STRATEGY”.

It seems that Barack Obama’s stratgy on US National Defense and pretty much most policies has been nothing more than, hope for the best that things do not go as bad as they could. We can now add the attempted NYC Time Sq. bombing to the last as Mayor Bloomberg stated … “We were very lucky”.

We were very lucky in Detroit when the underpants bomber failed to detonate himself and the plane on Christmas.

The Gulf Coast is not so lucky as the incompetence of the Obama Adminstration saw the spill spread and spread before even a halting, confused response kicked in.

UPDATE I: NYPD: Video has possible SUV bomb suspect in alley.

Police are not confirming that there is any evidence that a Pakistani Taliban commander is responsible for the failed bombing attempt. However, they are stating that there might be video tape of the suspect.

Police investigating the failed car bomb left in Times Square have videotape of a possible suspect shedding clothing in an alley and putting it in a bag and found a substance that resembled fertilizer in the parked SUV, Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Sunday.

Kelly said officers were on the way to a Pennsylvania town to talk to a tourist who might have recorded the suspect on his video camera. The video shows a white man in his 40s taking off one shirt, revealing another underneath.

The commissioner said there’s no evidence that a Pakistani Taliban videotaped claim to the failed car bombing is valid.
